bamafan... loved your Q3 story, LOL!! I was just imagining the VISUALS that would ensue if Adam were to do a song like Vintage Trouble's "PELVIS PUSHER". :

well drat. :-/ I guess I'm just not into that kind of music - I don't get it. If it's on his album, I hope I can come to like it at least. I pretty much like/love everything on FYE. So is "funk" radio friendly at all or would it just be used as filler on the album? And is it current? If Adam make his Funkedelic up to date and catchy, why not. I listen to myTop30 almost every week, has strange stuff there. Burno's "marry me???"My teen son thinks is current and I think its outdated???

So is "funk" radio friendly at all or would it just be used as filler on the album? And is it current? Funk will probably be the driving beat under the his music. I'm sure they will modernize, but the spirit of just jammin', thumping beats, sometimes with brass, that make it impossible to not want to dance is very radio-friendly right now – especially with the urban edge so much of current CHR has. One of my favorite funk songs evah: If you listen to the very bluesy, soulful delivery of Nikka Costa, you get a funk vibe. Here's a review of Nikka Costa's "Pro Whoa!" She is a FABULOUS vocalist and I totally agree with the Prince with a dash of Janis Joplin description. www.seattlepi.com/lifestyle/blogcritics/article/Music-Review-Nikka-Costa-Pro-Whoa-1434663.phpTake Prince and add dash of Janis Joplin, and you get Nikka Costa, a music veteran who returns with the first of many planned EPs, Pro *Whoa!, a collection of edgier rock and soul which may surprise fans with its harder sound. Here's her "Nylons in a Rip," again driving beats, some electronica, futuristic sound, but her vocals are very strong and uniquely her. I think this a great direction for Adam (and he'll have, I'm predicting, two to three ballads on the regular album and probably three on the deluxe). And I cannot WAIT to see him shakin' his ass, because funk is definitely all about making you want to do just that.

You can hear the Funk beat when Nile Rodgers is playing the guitar in this song. Adam can take that Funky beat and moderize it with electronic current music. Plus you have to image Adam's voice on those songs instead.

Not only did we get Ty's demo, he also encouraged the audience to "dance" along. Needless to say, I tried to comply, but I'm afraid I probably looked ridiculous.

Yeah - I think Adam could do something interesting and fun with this funky beat. Thanks everyone! 8-)
