Was running errands with my s i l this morning and we stopped at Walmart. He was in a long line to exchange something so I told him I'd meet him back in the CDs. When he got there and I hadn't bought anything he asked what I was looking for.... he he. BFM was not there, but with 2 GNT CDs was a TAKE ONE and a Lady Antebellum, so I moved both the LB and the TO to the back of the LA. He then asked if other musicians had such dedicated fans. I mentioned maybe Tokio Hotel, who he never heard of, Lady Gaga, and, of course, Bieber maybe, but told him I really wasn't sure and really didn't care. When I told him about the $1mil for charities he was suitably impressed. He would sit and watch some of my Adam DVDs with me but he's whipped and my daughter won't let him. Oh well, you get what you're willing to put up with.

While I appreciate the *spirit* of what Steven Tyler is trying to do...unisex clothing is just stupid. Shirts, yeah that's pretty easy, as would be pajamas or tank tops and stuff, but when it comes to certain things like pants or blazers and shit, you need to take into account the way men and women's bodies are different. Women have all kinds of figure issues and I don't know how unisex clothing will be good for anyone but the most thin, wafish figured girls and boys. Now unisex fragrance or makeup or whatever is fine...I just....I am skeptical. My question is why do we have to keep on 'reinventing the wheel'? Feminists covered all this territory years ago...there is a fundamental difference between 'the same' and 'equal'....don't want to be the same...just equal...and that goes for the rights of wardrobe choices as well as work opportunities or cognitive respect. I don't want to wear the same shirt or jacket as a man or see 'mine' on 'him'! I want to see 'him' have the same levels or degrees of choice as I and vice versus. That may indeed mean the same jacket, but not automatically mean that. Am I making sense to you?? sigh.... I agree. It's totally tiresome and gimmicky. Anybody remember the 80s when "androgyny" was all the rage? Elvis wore makeup ... he got the idea from Valentino ... who I'm assuming didn't make it up either. I want real equality, not marketing gimmicks.

DISCLAIMER: I know nuthin' about fashion... I checked out the Steven Tyler fashion pics from the link mys*&@^#r posted, and the clothes don't look particularly androgynous to me. At all. I love fashion and I THINK I know fashion, and ITA with you.

Apologies for being totally OT, but I received an email with a little text and a gif (smiley) that I absolutely loved. It's not Adam-related but it's just so cute. (GWS IMO) I just wanted so much to share it with Atop (nursing home) peeps as I'm sure you'd all appreciate it, but I don't know how to make it happen. Could I be really cheeky and ask if anyone who's really techie would mind pm'ing me an email address and seeing if it's possible to do something with it, if they thought it worth the effort of course. If no-one's up for it I do understand but I'd be so chuffed if I could get it posted .

Team illegal download!! If I ever have the chance, will give Adam 10 bucks I'm on the same team!!!!!!! Adam wouldn't make $10 per cd sold, anyway. Next time you go to a concert, buy a key chain or a poster. That will more than make up for the money you didn't give to Adam, due to the fact that you didn't want to put money in the pockets of the pond scum!

OT but I had to share a story. I was at a store today and saw a gay friend I hadn't seen in years. We hugged and chatted for a long time. He had a partner for 25 years who passed 10 years ago of cancer. Today I got to meet his new partner who he's been with for 8 years now. He was so sweet and they make such a great couple. I am so happy for my friend because he deserved to find love again and be happy. They said they are really loving life and enjoying every minute! (That sounded so much like Adam!) They both have had parents who were sick that they brought into their home and took care of and nurtured till the passed. These are two just wonderfully great people. It made my day to see them. Aw, I love this post. My best wishes to your friends for continued happiness.
