Re voting thru Superfan!
Yes, it only gives you 3 points, but it counts your vote twice (if you double click 'next'). I am assuming that it is the votes that will help Adam win, not how many points his individual fans have. The points were necessary to earn your right to vote 500 times per day, but once you reach Level 5, you won't earn any more votes per day no matter how many points you earn. Therefore, now it is how many times you vote per day, not how many points you earn per day that is helpful. Using this method, you can put in your 500 votes much quicker, even though you earn fewer points. You can refresh your superfan page to see the vote count go up.

I couldn't figure out how you knew you were getting 2 votes, if the points were only 3. Didn't occur to me to just refresh my super fan profile! Duh!!!

I live in the south. The southern folks on facebook loved it. My relatives thought he did a great job. Scotty is a traditional country singer, his NA is going to sound like Josh Turner- not Adam Lambert! Scotty didn’t hold his mic funny or make faces in this performance?? He hasn’t done those types of things in a while. He came on the show as a complete beginner on the stage. He learned along the way, and he learned better stage mannerisms as he went along. If you watch some of his AI tour videos or talk show performances, you will see that he was smart enough to watch, learn and change things.

Don't know who the people at MJ's were talking about. I did not hear melisma, I heard terrible swooping up to many notes. That is a characteristic of country music, but Scotty does it to such an extreme it sounds like a parody. A melisma is a series of notes sung on one syllable of a word. Think Gregorian chant. Or, jazz improv. Or, Adam on this version of SSB at :57. THAT'S melisma. What Scotty did was just scoop a bunch of notes with a bucket. (No, not the formal musical term, but you get the picture.) IMO Scotty is a caricature of himself.

Not a country fan. Will never buy a Scotty song or album. But, I think he is truly an example of someone "plucked" from obscurity to Idol stardom. He has tremendous poise, for not only an 18 year old, but for anyone. He has handled interview situations incredibly. And having a bad mic, at the World Series, and not getting rattled is a good example of his poise. I think he is unique. I expect him to be very successful.

Juniemoon, I LOVED your post. I know several die-hard stans that came to discover Adam through the AMAs, so I never lament them. justgill, thank you for your persistence and professionalism with Guardian UK. Great job!! The SSB: I listened to it the other day and Scotty's musicality didn't bother me that much. He hit the notes, etc., but the drawl seemed so exaggerated that it really took me out of it. I am not a country fan, but have heard a LOT of country music via commercials, sports, playoff music on TV shows, various awards shows and AI, etc. and I can't remember ever hearing a drawl that pronounced that isn't from the '50s or something. I was (and am) trying to be sensitive to the kid because I have nothing against him, but it almost sounded like a self-parody. Adam's is ridiculously beautiful. It's one of the few times I can really appreciate the song as it's being "sung," not just belted as is so often the case. I would love him to have the opportunity to sing that before a major audience, because those who do not get how incredibly beautiful his voice is and how amazingly skilled he is at using it will be blown away. And Nile is off to the studio!!!!!

You can if you want to, but I will comment. ;D At the top we have a kid who is currently a senior in high school. Other than singing in his high school chorus and taking guitar lessons, he has zero formal training. His HS chorus teacher had no idea he could sing country music like he does. Scotty really was your type of winner that went from singing in the shower to singing on a stage. In the matter of a year, he went from singing in his chorus to singing the NA at the opening game of The World Series. Scotty has a traditional country voice, and he is a deep baritone. He pretty much has a pitch perfect voice and he has a natural talent for storytelling. (This is very important in country music and unusual to find in a young male.) The kid is very talented and has years to learn and grow. At the bottom, we have a 27 year old man. By the time Adam sang this NA, he had been involved in some type of vocal lessons or performances on stage for over 15 years. He had traveled the world singing in touring shows and he had roles in Broadway touring shows. Adam came into AI with a great amount of singing experience and a lot of confidence. He had been on a stage for 15 years by the time he hit the AI stage. Adam had years of classical vocal lessons. He had worked with Music Directors and recorded music in studios. Adam's NA was absolutely beautiful. I prefer his voice over Scotty's, but Scotty has a good voice for a young kid who is new to all of this. I thought Scotty did a great job. I don't disagree with anything you said. Well, except I don't think it was a GREAT job. I think he did well for a HS kid with no formal vocal training who was plucked out of obscurity and thrown into the national spotlight. Good for him. So, what was my point in showing the two performances? I guess it was my attempt at making a comment about who America votes for on Idol and other such programs, and how little it has to do with vocal ability. I am amazed, in hindsight, that Adam made it onto the show with no sob back story, and with such obvious experience, talent and professionalism. That his vocals were so masterful and he had such a strong stage presence that he kept making it thru every week all the way to the end, despite not fitting the typical role of "kid next door makes good". If I look at the current reality show winners and popular pop/rock/country singers, it is a bit mind-boggling that Adam has been able to make a place for himself when he so obviously doesn't fit the mold or the type. I also realize that MY idea of a great singer is not at all the same as the majority of the public. That is nothing new, but, I am very glad that somehow, despite all that, Adam is able to have the fame and the platform to make the kind of music that thrills and moves me.
