Adam: WhataI want from you?
I want a 3 Disc Super Deluxe Edition!!
10.23.11 by Q3
In the outtakes from The Advocate interview, Adam revealed the overall direction for his new album – three lanes:
“Adam: There are three lanes I’ve been chasing down, depending on who the producer or the writer is that I’m working with, there are about three different kind of vibes. I’ve been experimenting with a lot more funk this time —
“Adam: I guess you could call it electrofunk, and then there’s some darker synth pop — a little bit Depeche Mode, a little bit ’90s industrial. Nine Inch Nails meets George Michael. I know that’s a weird mashup but that’s what it feels like. Then there’s some more singer-songwriter emotional, vocally driven. No matter what the genre is that we’re working on, it’s all very person. Even on upbeat fun tracks it’s all very real. The last album was a little bit more of a fantasy escape with the exception of maybe “Whattya Want From Me?” and a couple of other songs, but even my image for that last album felt very theatrical, and kind of over the top and intentionally tacky.”

So we have “three lanes”: electrofunk, dark synth pop, and singer-songwriter emo tune. Well OK I want all three. And I want 15 tracks of each. So that is three discs.
Here’s my great marketing idea – why not put out three albums – one for each “lane”. Then put out a Super Deluxe 3-Disc Set!! I am pretty sure he must have 45 tracks by now.
Oh, and each album needs its own lead single – so we need three lead singles. Three lead singles, 4 albums, 45 track on sale on iTunes. And I love the concept of checking out the Billboard 200 Album Chart in March 2012, and seeing all four new Adam’s 4 albums on the chart. Adam here, Adam there, Adam everywhere.
I know this is totally impossible. But it would be amazing, unprecedented and would totally fulfill Adam’s promise of that he had surprises.
And Adam is working with Nile Rodgers!!!!!!!!!!! So let's dance!

10 Things I Hate About Adam
10/23/2011 by NoAngel
I've been berting pretty hard over the last few days and everything has taken on a soft rosy glow. In my happy haze, I even thought the leopard leggings outfit looked good ( ), and that's when I thought maybe it was time to take stock and make sure that I hadn't fallen off the edge—that I still had the ability to keep some perspective on Adam. After all, he's not perfect.
So Adam, here's some things I don't like about you:
1. You keep secrets too well. We're dying here, dude. We stalk Twitter and mercilessly pester anyone who mentions being in the same hemisphere as you, just to find out what you're up to. If only you would tweet hourly updates of your whereabouts and activities, we wouldn't have to be such creepy ninjas.
2. You have disrupted my sleep for nearly 2 ½ years. Dark circles under the eyes are NOT a good look, Adam, and having people greet me with, "Are you okay? You look tired?" gets old.
3. You may be all about "more leather, less glitter," but who's gonna clean out all the silvery flecks left in my suitcase and travel bags? That shit is tenacious!
4. You have made my places-i-need-to-visit list way too long! How am I ever going to get to all these fabulous places with fabulous people? I was happy with the usual Paris-London-Buffalo wishlist, but now I have a deep insatiable longing to see Auckland, Helsinki, Amsterdam, Lubbock Texas... Okay, not Lubbock. Sorry, Texans, I love you, but no.
5. You have made me into one of "those people" who gets all twitchy if I'm more than 3 feet away from my iphone or laptop. My first thought when my phone vibrates is not, "Oh, that's probably my dear sister reminding me to send Auntie a birthday card," but rather, "Adam!!!!!!!!!" I consider it a sign of sanity that I actually have text alerts turned off during sleep hours.
6. You have been the cause of many an embarrassing real life moment. "Normal" people don't understand that one can have really great friends on the internet, and it's hard to bring up something that 'Sparkle4Evah' said to you the other day without raising some eyebrows. Work emails lose a bit of dignity when you accidentally add \o/ or : p or you reply to some good news with "yay!! ; )".
7. You are almost endlessly positive and lovely. This might seem like a good thing, but dude—next to you I look like a total jerk. Knock it off!
8. You know how you do that thing with your, um, thing, and then afterwards you always, uhhh… you know… Okay, I got nothing.
9. Being your fan has opened my eyes to some very bad things—the extent of homophobia (both blatant and insidious) worldwide, the cruelty of which people are capable under cover of anonymity, the inherent unfairness in the music business, the casual disregard for facts in journalism.
10. Being your fan has also shown me some beautiful things—the generosity of people inspired by love, the spirit of adventure that lies just under the surface in us, the way borders and timezones and language barriers fall away when we truly want to connect.
So it turns out I really don't hate you, Adam. In fact, I like you kind of a lot. So you just carry on being yourself, and I'll just carry on berting! The world looks pretty good in a soft rosy glow…

Keeping score…Week #2
10.23.11 by Q3
Last week I started the The Bastard Albums Monitor. For more info, check out the 10.16.11 News Thread adamtopia.com/index.cgi?board=daily&action=display&thread=524&page=1
I started out tracking the old BFM but was “forced” to switch to the new BFM this week because of the change out of BFM albums. The independent release of BFM by Colwel was removed from Amazon, and on Saturday a new version of BFM appeared on Amazon for presale. The second album was from Universal Music DOD. Still listed as an “Adam Lambert” album, same packaging, so still an official “Bastard” Production.
Also, I have included the “lead” single for BFM this week.
Here is this week’s scorecard on a scale of 0 to 9 where 9 is that best rating. And the numbers are good for Adam, not so good for the “Bastards”. There is no need to worry much about these releases because they are essentially being ignored. This could all change when Adam's real new single EXPLODES in November.
Beg For Mercy (Deluxe Edition) – TW 0.63 out of 27 (statistically unchanged)
LW 0.6 out of 27
This week’s score is low and almost entirely due to Adam fans on Twitter and other social media. The effect of all this conversation is hard to estimate but it most likely slightly raised awareness of the album release, unreleased, rerelease. Here is this week’s rundown.
Pre-Orders – 0.08 DOWN from LW 0.1
“Beg for Mercy” (Deluxe Edition) Amazon Best Sellers Rank: TW #2,444 DOWN from LW (old regular edition) #1,522 in Music
This NOT AN ADAM LAMBERT ALBUM, being falsely advertised as an Adam Lambert Album.
Even though the label was changed, the release date is unchanged: November 21, 2011
NOTE: All of the old pre-orders were cancelled by Amazon and buyers were notified by email of the cancellation. No promotional email to convert these buyers to the new Deluxe version has been reported, but presumable many of the current pre-order are people who already ordered the original version. There could be an increase next week as people replace their BFM orders.
Google News coverage: TW 0.1 DOWN from LW 0.1
TW BFM album news reports 0, blogs 0. BFM single news reports 0, blogs 1 – 1 Portugal (info only) past 7 days.
LW BFM news reports 0, blogs 3 – 1 UK (negative), 1 Italy (info only), 1 Hungary (info only) past 7 days.
Online buzz: TW 0.45 UP from LW 0.2
Sentiment Index remains very negative but there was an increase in online discussion and mentions because the original version was pulled and a spike when it returned as “the Deluxe Edition”.
Paramount Sessions – TW 1.44 out of 27
LW 0.15 out of 27
There was some press coverage because of the PS Press Release. One news report appeared in print, because the album had a local business connection, but the report was completely accurate. Pre-orders remained almost non-existent.
Pre-Orders –TW 0.04 DOWN from LW 0.05
Paramount Sessions [Import] Amazon Best Sellers Rank: DOWN TW #12,586 LW #5,242 in Music
This NOT AN ADAM LAMBERT ALBUM, being falsely advertised as an Adam Lambert Album, is
just a cheesy remixed of old demos sung by Adam Lambert and some stuff by Steve Cooke
Release date unchanged: December 6, 2011
Google News coverage: TW 1.3 UP from LW 0
PS news reports 1 (print), newspaper blogs 3, other news blogs 4.
Online buzz: TW 0.1 FLAT to LW 0.1
Negative.
New this week: BFM Single
BFM Single: Amazon #9,148 Paid in MP3 Songs. iTunes not in Top 1,000 tracks; #3 Adam Track.
On sale date: Tuesday 11.18.11
The single is the #3 selling Adam Lambert track on iTunes but the other Adam singles are about 2 years old and selling at a low rate.
Pre-Order Stats: Amazon US positions as of midnight 10.23.11 vs. 10.16.11.
Sales Stats: Chart positions on Amazon MP3 and iTunes US as of midnight 10.23.11.
