LOL Not a fan of Stacy Francis. Basically I think her "best audition ever" deemed by Simon was a crying mess of over singing. But then again Adam likes a lot of things I don't LOL. Interesting she has had all this stage experience when the show's backstory on her made it seem like she was some Mom who never got to live out her dreams after being beaten down by life... yep....and all the frackin' crying on the show (not just Stacy) drives me NUTS....turns me off everybody. Seriously. GAWD!! Just sing dammit! Yeah I was super excited for X Factor until I started watching it and realized it's basically Idol redux with an expanded age limit and groups. I am over the back story shit. If you are gonna do back stories then do EVERYONE'S and talk about the positive things in their history--like everything they have done to try and accomplish their dreams--and not just the WOE IS ME stories where the only back stories you feature are ones about getting mauled by Siberian tigers and getting hit by bread trucks as you are delivering meds to your dying grandma!! I never got that, why those segments always had to be so weepy ...and I am oooover it.

They did it will Sasha. They never talked about how She danced for Beyonce & Adam. Sasha's back story was how much She loved Her sister and had been dancing Her whole life. There was nothing on TV about Sasha already had audition for SYTUCD, they left that out too.

Simon knows what he's doing extremely well.

I don't DO backstories....imma cynical bitch. That dark haired girl who feigned shyness and stagefright and then proceeded to work that stage like a professional? NOT HAVIN' IT! LOL! I detest duplicity.
(okay...I'll shut up before our lovely mods shut me up)
dying to hear what Adam's up to this week. ;D

That changes the back story a bit! ??? Haha! True. As with Adam though in Wicked and 10 Commandments... a chorus boy wondering when the chance for a lead might come. :( :( Just saying ...I doubt she will take the 5 million prize .... crying doesn't do it for me ... is way over the top for me. Theatre folk seem to like the big voices. Edit: Adam's story was pretty "normal" ---a guy trying to make it in the tough music business. WHICH IS WHAT EVERYONE trying out for AI had in common.

I don't need a judge to tell me whether or not I enjoyed a performance. And I absolutely hate backstories. I don't like to be manipulated. Don't particularly care for Stacey's voice (don't hate it), but I detest all the blubbering she does on camera. Ugh. Guess that makes me unsympathetic, but that's just me.

I never got that, why those segments always had to be so weepy ...and I am oooover it. Haha!! Exactly!! LOL, reminds me of my first job out of college. We had an Employee of the Month every month and it was the same damn thing. It never mattered that you busted your ass day in and day out and did whatever was asked of you and 20 times more. Instead, you had to have single-handedly saved a gazillion-dollar account from certain doom, while giving birth and worrying about your family, whose at the center of a hostage crisis. And, ofc, said employee was forced into these heroics because entire rest of their account group lie stricken with typhoid : : My friends and I used to joke that, "Wow, I guess it's a good thing we haven't won the award; we don't have enough tragedy in our lives ..." I have only been paying attention to about 25 percent of XF so far. I find myself muting and FFing through most of it, so I don't know anyone's names, etc. This is how I always watched Idol before Adam's season and one of the reasons I hate the audition rounds – that crap goes on forEVER.

The whole show is so manufactured.I think the producers can spin a backstory anyway they want, but the whole "woe is me, I've never had a chance and I don't want my music to die inside of me" came right from Stacy's mouth at her first audition.

Are the talent shows running their course?
The only ones I like are AI and SYTYCD (and Dancing with the Stars 'cuz it's such a hoot, to me.) The pained, strained, contrived-ness of America's Got Talent and X-Factor, in addition to how s-l-o-w-l-y they actually move along - I can't take it. Everything, everyone comes across as so FAKE FAKE FAKE. (And, incidentally, I don't like how dark and foreboding-looking X-Factor is . . . it's skeery.)
Was Adam's season the last one with the original judge cast (Simon, Paula, Randy)? (They just should've ended after that Season!)

And the fantastic voices out there, if they don't have a tragic or heartwarming backstory, are they at a disadvantage? I hope not! :
