As with Adam though in Wicked and 10 Commandments... a chorus boy wondering when the chance for a lead might come. :( :( To me, if it is professional struggles, whether Adam, Kris, or Durbin, fine, that is relevant. Even a slight mention of something personal, but I guess I lean toward the cynical, too. Fishing for a sympathy vote is weak and pathetic, sorry, but that's my opinion. I'm more comfortable with a shallow vote for who is cutest than I am with who's saddest. I'm pretty chilled most of the time, but long, long time ago, I went for a job interview (which I deserved and I got) and the HR person told me I'd get 200 extra points because I was a woman. It infuriated me and I told him I didn't want his 200 points but I wanted the job if I deserved it. Veterans can get extra points because they've DONE something, but to get extra credit for the way you were born, NO, don't do me any favors.

Adam was pretty cute, that was my first thought!!! A normal story that I could listen to without rolling my eyeballs, and and he could sing in an entertaining way ...as if he was giving you a concert. Not forced but who he was ...or it appeared not contrived(can't think of the right word here.) I just think if they just sang and didn't go for all the histrionics we might enjoy their skill more. All these singers want to make it ...and we know many have been in professional gigs prior to the competion, only a few are naive in terms of paying their dues. So sing and let the audience decide.

Yeah, and that over-long note was a bad misstep – especially with no context for it. If she has all that experience, she should know better, but I'll still give her the benefit of the doubt because she seems cool and very talented. She came off as very desperate to me, so that and the super long note for no reason whatsoever put me off her.

I wasn't DTRH when the Details and Rolling Stone magazines came out. Didn't even know about the former at the time. So, months later, when I just absolutely HAD to have copies, I paid thru the nose to get them, and was happy to. They are now both framed and on display. Since I cannot buy a copy thru legitimate retail means, I am definitely considering buying this as well. The cover photo is incredible. It would look great framed with the other two. It does seem to me to just be capitalism at work. Some folks who subscribe, got this copy, and, not being Glamberts, decided to sell it to the highest bidder. Unfortunately, I may have to go this route as well. One of the few places in Portland selling Out/Advocate is Rich's Cigar Store. They have the November issue but it does not have the Advocate insert. I only hope we're not bidding against each other and driving the price up further.
