Cassie...or some other type expert :-) Adam's speaking voice often has a slightly 'nasel' sound to me...especially [but not exclusively] in the morning...and we have discussed this. My question is...how would a tonsilectomy/adnoidectomy affect Adam's singing voice? I remember when my youngest daughter had her tonsils and adnoids out, her voice sounded completely different and it was a shock [she was only 4 at the time..but she had extremely large t's and a's and surprisingly, the dr suggested removal.

I was just thinking, Sauli isn't actually blonde, is he? There are so many photos of him with brown hair at a younger age. And I think his sisters have brown hair. So, who knows is the brown natural, or is the blonde natural? (I know the platinum he has now isn't natural.) He can be both. My husband used to be blond during the summer time and when winter came he had quite dark hair. We in Finland are several months without sun. I have noticed that the sun fades many peoples hair. One of Sauli's sisters has dark hair. The other 3 are blondes (if I remember right). But I don't know if it is their natural color?

Eeek!! Don't even say it!! /o\ Adam's voice doesn't sound nasally to me at all (of course, I've lived my entire life about an hour from where he's lived almost his entire life, so if it's an accent thing, I wouldn't hear it). Sure, occasionally you'll hear that just-woken-up grogginess of slightly stuffed up tone if he HAS just woken up, but everybody has that. Adam doesn't seem to have any laryngitis, allergies or any sinus issues other than an occasional cold as he was able to do his 118 shows without missing a single one, that would belie that he does not have any chronic issues in that regard. If he could travel at the rate he did between June 2009 and Dec. 2010 and seem only minimally sick (he should have been in a constant state of exhaustion, but never seemed to be), he's extraordinarily healthy. (Not THAT way – Okay, well, yes, that way too) In the U.S., they almost never take out tonsils anymore. You have to have chronic issues (meaning tonsillitis three to four times in a year as a child and even then, most doctors will advise against it). I've known two people who have had their tonsils out as adults (18 and 22) and they were MISERABLE. The recovery time is very rough for adults and both of them said if they had it to do over again, they would not have the surgery. The thought of any type of unnecessary surgery anywhere near his vocal chords and sinuses is scary to say the least.
