Q3, question, now that Adam's #2 is slated for 2012 first quarter release instead of for the holidays, what do you think would be a good figure for debut week sales? I can only answer for me -- and not for Adam, RCA, 19, DMG or even another fan. I expect Adam to open at #1 or #2 on the Billboard 200. When I hear a single and a release date -- I might take a stab at a first week forecast. When FYE was released I thought it would be Platinum in the US and I predicted 225K for Week 1 FYE so I am not much of a predictor. I did not anticipate that US Radio would reject FYE -- and that it would be so hard to perform live. As a Friday morning Q-back, I wish they had used IIHY as the lead single, WWFM as the mid-tempo ballad follow-up and recorded FYE in a different key and without the vintage shuffle beat. Oh, and not done the campy cover.

Haha, I was just about to comment that the worst thing about that haircut is actually the discussion about it, when I read Chunkey's essay and I really loved that. That's was fun...and without the Gump cut, we would have never gotten that essay. So thank you Adam for the 'buzz' you are creating during the down times! lol
Wanted to comment on the Neil Blog, money comments, etc from last few pages.
I think it is important that we really allow Neil to keep this blog separate from Adam's business. I am totally glad to see on negativeneil.com that nobody so far has posted as an Adam fan. Everybody stayed on topic and talked about the video or the issues at hand. Hope it stays that way or that Neil cleans that off quickly should it ever rear it's head!
That blog serves a bigger interest of a certain movement in this country right now and it does not have anything to do with Adam. Nobody who posts there will have any 'in' with Adam, I don't think that anyone who posts there does expect anything except political dialog and if people want to donate there, I am sure they do so because they care about the 99 movement or the blog or whatever. But saying that they do it for Adam is in my mind not only invalid, it is also unfair.
I am totally happy to see Neil develop this, have been thinking for a while that he would be ideal for this kind of front-line reporting which is needed right now. I think this movement is here to stay and its story-line and agenda is only evolving, as his first video makes quite apparent.
I also completely understand that Neil did not want to start this out with his own political commentary, but rather let others do the talking. He wants to first establish his blog and see who shows up and what responses he gets. Seems totally smart to me. Also, the movement first needs to be heard of.
Obviously, the fact that he has this many followers so quickly is due to his inherited fame, but his blog needs to stand on its own political feet, if it is to be successful. So he set it up in such a way that nothing points to Adam. Adam tweeted to acknowledge it, so they are not making a secret out of it, but he also indicated that he will stay out of it, that politics is not his thing. Smart all the way around.
But now I think it is our job as Adam fans to respect the chosen set-up too, which means we should not take our Adam related fears or money worries or hair appointments over there either.
On to other things. Love those month by month reviews. Thanks tigerlily. So much is happening every month and it is fun to relive it in fast forward mode like this. I would not have remembered a tenth of this. Lots of flashback moments.
Finally - fourth topic: Why are we biting peoples heads off, just because they don't know who Stacey is? Do we have to watch X-factor to be allowed on this message board now? Just checking whether I am defaulting on some new obligations I was not aware of?????

So to re-cap the events of the day. We start the day with Adam adoring Us! Hardly anybody likes Adam's hair, but agree that Sauli looks hot in His silver pants. He gives a Smack down to Perez Perez acts like a whiny Baby and says their not friends any more and pulls facts out from 2008. : Adam admits that He should know all of what Perez has posted going back years. : Adam is a classy Guy and says Sorry and makes Peace Then Adam gives an explanation and at the same time is snarky at Perez's character.

I think it's just based mainly on fan expectations and hopes, till you see the pre-order rankings, hear the first single, see how well radio is taking the single, see promo and media buzz etc., then you'll try and make a more definite prediction.

Is Adam not a beast whether he has hair or not? I say he is a beast period. Is Sauli not the sweetest, cutest lollipop you have ever seen. I say he is the sweetest and cutest and perfect for the beast known as Adam. The two men together absolutely thrill me to pieces. Love, love, love. All is good in Adamland tonight. MY FAVORITE POST OF THE DAY - ThankYou

Sales forecasting for entertainment is an art that employs a lot of science. When I had to do it professionally, I had my own techniques. Basically, for entertainment product, you can build a very accurate daily sales model based on past history. Then lay in the expected starting point for the product (album, movie, game, etc.) based on multiple factors --- similar products, reviews, online anticipation level, advance order, consumer research, and so on. I have learned that you cannot forecast sales accurately when you are a fan. You need to be unbiased or your ability to forecast goes away. So as a fan -- I just guess.
