Perhaps, Adam could request a camera/phone free zone in the first 3-5 rows at venues. Don't know how feasible this would be but maybe it's worthwhile attempting.

Melisende You have touched on something that has often bothered me. I knew it wasn't my imagination but interesting to hear that it's been even more obvious that Adam doesn't like this. At one point I sort of held the phone down low and tried to film without him noticing, but he catches everything.

I'm not much for taking videos or photos, but I do volunteer to stream on mixlr, which doesn't involve holding a phone up in the air - just subtly at waist level. (Of course, that does interfere with joining in the applause.) I did the stream from Foxwoods on Sunday as donna973. The woman in front of me was filming - I don't know if for herself or to share - but we were up in the mezzanine, and the seats are so sharply raked, that she could hold the phone at her chest level and still have a clear shot of the stage without blocking others' views, or even her face.

OT: I know there is a lot of talk and attention about women in country not getting the same amount of airplay as the men. Putting them at a disadvantage for #1 hits and bigger concert venues. It is unfair. But there are many talented artists shut out or slow walked in a much bigger way throughout the music industry. At least in country, they seem to have a different #1 every week and giving many artists a chance to boast of a number #1 hit or 2 or 3 or 4+, lol. Just ask Blake Shelton, he is always bragging about all the #1s he has. Is he really that good? They just rotate them in and out. Not so in other genres for those who are not favorites. Deserving or not. Why not shine a light on the entire unfairness of radio (and try to make a change) and not just for the women of country? Their careers are not the only ones made more difficult because they are not competitive on radio in the US. And why are they not told the same thing that others are told? Just rely on your fans streaming more and that will make everything equal. HA. www.rollingstone.com/music/music-country-lists/20-country-songs-by-women-that-should-have-been-hits-928385/ashton-shepherd-look-it-up-2011-928425/"So why does it matter if a song hits the top of the chart? The reasons are many, from the obvious (bigger tours, bigger visibility, bigger sponsorships) to the more nuanced, like how once a single hits Number One, it’s much more likely to become a staple on evergreen playlists, known as the “recurrent” and “gold” categories. “Songs by men peak high on the chart and then enter into the ‘recurrent’ category, which puts them in greater standing to remain in the ‘gold’ category later on,” says a representative from the anonymous collective WOMAN Nashville. “The songs that are played the most become what listeners are most familiar with and theoretically want to keep hearing for months and years to come. They become ‘the sound of country music’ as the current listener would know it.” Therefore hitting Number One isn’t just a ceremonial thing: it influences not only what new music makes it to the airwaves in the future, but what stays there for decades to come."

As I was switching TV channels, I heard Superpower on Miss America 2020 for about a minute as they showed a group of contestants(?) with their arms in the air making a muscle.

That song ALWAYS makes me cry..... Lawd!! The first time I heard that song I was in tears too. A few times after also. That is one of the reasons it made me crazy when they would brand Adam as pop/dance only. I kept thinking, have you not heard some of his deep and emotional work? He has a lot of it than hardly anyone other than fans have heard. He seems to be making up for that travesty now. People are getting to hear all that he has in his arsenal and they are eating it up, lol. Fans like to dance, rock and sometimes they want and need a good cry. And Adam has given us all that and then some. HA.
