Was late turning on the CBS show. Have I missed Adam? Nope, you're good! He's still to come.

Maddening eh! I posted a comment! Wish I had added---his review was good just off the mark re the fan base. Yay! Unless my eyes are playing tricks on me, it looks as if she changed the wording. Also the comments are gone as they would no longer apply. "Ten years have passed since Adam Lambert received the only standing ovation from Simon Cowell during his entire run judging “American Idol.” Saturday night at the El Rey Theatre, Lambert got what amounted to one long SRO ovation, doing an underplay at the 700-capacity venue as one of just four gigs he did this month to promote his new “Velvet: Side A” EP." Well how about that ...LOL! Guess my indignation had an effect. PLUS my two comments were deleted. Says NO comments. she added in my mention of the four shows and his Velvet side A. She did not add anything about Side B coming out next year and a tour. That's ok! PS I did do a second comment one apologizing for not giving recognition for the good review, just concerned re her supposition re the number in attendance.

I see Alison Iraheta singing back up on The Christmas Special. Yes--glad to see she is getting employment over a variety of shows. Did it start with working as a back up singer on Idol? (Leading to work with a few top notch band leaders???)

Adam has only released half an album so I think these last few shows were mainly just a warm-up for the rest of the Velvet release and the chance to get a band and backup singers together and see how everything works out. He has already had some alterations to the band members and is probably trying to see what the best combination will be. He doesn't have a permanent, highly qualified and successful backing band like he does with Queen, so it isn't a perfect science. I do think this combination of band members sound really good and hopefully their personalities are meshing together as well. I think that we are very lucky that he is working hard to get gigs together so that a small portion of his fans can enjoy his new songs and to make sure he is still holding our attention. Using casinos and smallish venues ensures that he doesn't overspend on venues while he is developing his ideas for a future full tour.

But Adam has played at smaller venues like this before but not on tour. This was not his toure. I think the AT&T gig was small. And with these same holiday gigs, he played at 3700 and 4000 seat venues. I think he took whatever was available to him on short notice. No need for a publication to put it like that is all he can fill up. Most of us know better. And it is unlikely any of his songs will blow up on US radio from an indie label so matter how good. Yes your right. And to be fair. He plays massive arenas around the world with Queen. I guess as a solo he just doesent have the same clout. But that’s the the great thing about the QAL collaboration. Yes it’s a struggle on an Indy label. But again, it’s not impossible. Several Indy artists have made it into US Top 40. I guess ever since Adam left RCA. It’s been like that. I agree. But even the critic was not comparing Adam's solo tours to Queen. That would make absolutely so sense as he never played venues of that size after Idol or ever. Well he did play to 18k once in South Africa for a solo concert, lol. But she was saying his solo tours had diminished when there is no evidence of that as the Velvet tour has not been done yet. All good, tho, cause she changed the wording on the article. But 1500 to 4500 has always been pretty much what he played solo in the US. With a few a little less and a few more. I believe they were a bit larger internationally.
