Was late turning on the CBS show. Have I missed Adam? Nope, you're good! He's still to come. I can't seem to find it so missing it all now....cbs access now is a paid subscription even though I get it on my tv I can watch it in an hour or two....go figure

It ran long so I am assuming it started late due to a football game or some such. Adam was the last performer except for the emotional group sing along finale. It reminds me of a singer friend of his from pre-Idol days who said when they all went out to Karaoke after performances, no one wanted to sing after Adam. He was too good. Guess that is still the sentiment!
Also, for anyone watching the whole thing (which I didn't), Kelly Roland performed just before Adam. I caught the last part of her song, and I suspect she was lip syncing. At least her backing singers were, as their voices were heard but they forgot to raise their microphones to their lips.
I also read something about the taping. That Adam performed it perfectly the first time. He has a nickname "one-take Adam". I think they taped it again just to make sure they had it all, but not because he needed to improve anything.
Yup, our Adam excels in so many ways.

I thought he would be singing Please come home for Christmas on this show! So not? Where did I get that idea?

I thought he would be singing Please come home for Christmas on this show! So not? Where did I get that idea? I think he recorded this before releasing that. Plus the Christmas song isn't for sale so Closer to You is better for his bottom line and it did fit with the sentiment. I liked that they kept saying he was coming up, so he got named more than anyone else. And great crowd reception.

Just watched, and he was as magnificent as always. CTY actually has a somewhat similar theme to the show's aim of promoting adoption. CTY is about wanting to be closer to someone you love, and that's what families are all about.
Have to say, that review (before the edit) was pretty typical of reviewers who don't follow Adam and aren't up to speed on the facts. Nice that it was changed and clarified. Adam is NOT doing a "tour," of course. I did like the comment by the person who tweeted that it's a mystery why Adam isn't filling very large venues as a solo act. That's the mystery of the century. Especially when I see some of the acts that DO fill large venues. But that's another story. I loved his solo one-offs. Let's hope a solo tour is well in the works!

I have decided that the answer to the 'Why' Adam mystery is just simply ... 'Because'
It has been working well for me
