Wow, I wonder if those weeks we didn't see Adam and how scarce he was for awhile were during this time. I hate to think of him as being sad, ever. Of course, that's all in the past. But this interview is great! It’s funny, when I started the writing process I felt totally exhausted. It’s like a decompression that happens after you’re on the road so long. Real life feels so foreign and bizarre, and I was actually a little bit depressed when I first came back because I just didn’t know what to do with myself. I felt a little bit lonely and I was trying to get back into my friendships but it felt like I had been gone for so long, it was strange. And I was trying to get over a couple of failed dating situations that didn’t go so well.I so understand what Adam is talking about here! I've seen it happen too many times to count with my daughter. She will be totally immersed with a cast for a musical for 8-12 weeks and then BOOM- it's over. I'll never forget the wise director that warned a group of junior high kids, which included my daughter, to expect a period of depression or emptiness after the show was over. This extreme high to extreme low would happen dozen of times over the years. Depending on the cast and the show, sometimes this minor depression period would take longer than other times. It really is like a minor depression and sometimes it is difficult to assimulate yourself back into a normal life. I imagine it was a HUGE adjustment for Adam coming off of a two year non-stop life which included American Idol, the AI Tour, promo and performances for FYE, and a worldwide solo tour.

I remember there was some discussion at the time about how it must have been difficult for Adam to adjust to normal life again after being on the road for so long. How he must have felt somewhat disconnected from real life. But hey that's all in the past now! I think about how COMPLETELY FREAKING AWESOME his life is right now and all is right with the world again LOL

popcrush PopCrush Did you miss @adamlambert perform with Queen at the @mtc EMA's? Watch it here: bit.ly/sPmKMS15 minutes ago ADAM LAMBERT PERFORMS WITH QUEEN AT THE 2011 MTV EMASby: Nadine Cheung 36 minutes ago Adam Lambert scored the gig of a lifetime when he performed a three-song medley of Queen hits along with the remaining members of the iconic rock band at the 2011 MTV EMAs on Sunday. For the first portion of the performance at Belfast’s Odyssey arena, the ‘American Idol‘ alum appeared silhouetted as the audience cheered. Viewers were treated to a nearly eight-minute performance by the glam pop star and the legendary band, including smash Queen hits like ‘The Show Must Go On,’ ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘We Are the Champions.’ In the past, Lambert has named Freddie Mercury one of his biggest influences, so the opportunity to stand in for his hero was undoubtedly one the singer will never forget. In fact, the 29-year-old star chose ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ for his original ‘Idol’ audition. Selena Gomez hosted the 2011 EMAs on Nov. 6, where Queen was honored with the Global Icon Award. Lambert is currently working on his highly anticipated sophomore album, which he recently described as “existential pop.” The as-of-yet-untitled LP is expected to be released in early 2012. outmagazine Out Magazine Adam Revisited: Adam Lambert tells editor in chief Aaron Hicklin what he's learned in the two years since he app... bit.ly/vSa7ES3 minutes ago Adam Revisited BY AARON HICKLIN Adam Lambert tells editor in chief Aaron Hicklin what he's learned in the two years since he appeared on the cover of the 2009 Out 100. I picked out this little bit: Q - Which is what kind of music? "Dance music! My challenge was, how do I make dance music authentic to what I’m capable of vocally and what I do." I love actually hearing him acknowledge his own talent. (I think it may be the first time). That little snippet got me very excited too. Sometimes I think we all coddle this man too much. He knows what he is doing.
