I have been reading the reaction here to the delayed single release and I understand the disappointment and wondered why I wasn't feeling it. So here is what I have figured out. So, really, honestly, the anticipation now makes me happier than I was before. It is going to be good. ITA with everything you say, LindaG23! I was so happy (and frankly, surprised) at his twitter feed last night! 99% beautiful and supportive and that's what he needs to see and hear. I trust--TOTALLY--that he is as honest and upfront as he CAN be with us and I love him for that. He is SO not going to fade from media before the single comes out. I totally understand (and even feel) the impatience about new music, but I have never angsted about his global domination plan, how the rest of the world perceives him etc. Artistic decisions--ALL of them--are Adam's to make. The business/logistics stuff simply doesn't matter to me. I'll take his new music when I can get it. Adam said in that long ago interview about what advice he'd give to AI contestants about success that they FIRST have to define success-- what type/level they want. (Who's got that interview handy, lol?) I think Adam weighs his probably-ever-changing definition carefully, and I trust he's creating his art AS IT SUITS HIM while accomodating the factors that are out of his control in his usual graceful manner. ILHSFM. Anjalee, LOVED your post--and MyS*&@^#r, my main thought when he tweeted delay last night was "Oh, shit, MyS*&@^#r's not going to get to hear the single at Ellen show on 11/10!" But I'm sure you'll have fun anyway! JABLEA -- JUST SAY NO TO THE MO!!! I love all his hairstyles, including current (bet he thinks it thins his face, and it does--emo still my fav) BUT PLEASE--IF HE HAS A MOHAWK FRIDAY NIGHT, IT BETTER BE A FAUXHAWK! (MELLIEMOM--good luck to your daughter!)

If you watched the credits, at the end of the TV broadcast, there are a whole bunch of stills of Adam and Queen! It is great!

Yessss! Guise, I'd be sur-prised if we don't get SOME leaks with all these people listening to this all over the place! How are they going to keep everything a secret for 5 more months, really now? Also, I am choosing to ignore all the "my way of stanning is better than yours" discussion.

Folks, does anyone know if MTV will be re-running EMAs again? I can't find it in the future listings for any of the MTV stations for the next two days, but I hope I am just "not seeing it". Do they call it "EMAs"? I really want to record...

I have been reading the reaction here to the delayed single release and I understand the disappointment and wondered why I wasn't feeling it. So here is what I have figured out. I absolutely love the direction he is now going with the album as evidenced by the OUT article. I think that it is fabulous that he consciously sat down and said I want predominantly dance/upbeat music as opposed to the more "dark" ballady music but I need to determine how I can do this and still have it meld with my completely phenomenal voice. (OK, I said that not him and that is not to say that there won't be ballads because I am sure there will be.) If you listen to top 40 radio right now, a transition is occurring away from the auto-tuned crap of Mike Posner et al and also the collaborations meme is peaking. Adele's songs have been instrumental in that change but as much as I love her songs, there is no way you can dance or party to them. For me, she is an HAC artist who smashed into Top 40 because people are desperate for good singers. Bruno Mars also feeds into the good singer transition but his music is just a little 'croony'. The dance music right now is not 'phenomenal voice' friendly and that dance-style needs just a little longer to fade. So, what Adam is doing by going in a more funky direction is, depending on how you look at it, "NEXT" or completely old school. It is really a risk. I am thinking 'next' and am super excited to see how Adam has made funk modern. I am a funk lover from way back and although I want funk more than anything, I was a little concerned that radio was not quite ready and please don't throw things at me, nor would they necessarily accept a completely new direction from Adam. He is not yet a recognized trendsetter in music and I do not want there to be any hesitancy on the part of radio to accept or play his music. It is great that his management is playing the songs to the entertainment establishment all over the place and he needs time to do that. Also, November/December is the END of the year and I emphasize end because I think the collabs etc. will be over by then. Radio will be so sick of Holiday music and the same ol' same ol' that they will be ready, and so will the listeners, to party. The upshot of this whole essay is that January is a new year for a new sound and as much as I want new music from Adam, I think the timing is better if he waits irregardless of what other litigious crap is going on. FYE was Adam testing the waters as a Pop Star, this next album is Adam finding his unique voice and I, for one, am ready to party. So, really, honestly, the anticipation now makes me happier than I was before. It is going to be good. I so agree with all of this... probably should have just bolded the whole thing.

Oh jeeze, yeah, thanks for the sanctimony, but of course I know there is a second album. : ::)But he likely knew that the single wasn't going to happen in November weeks ago and could have let us know, but instead it was prolonged until Nov. 8. If he would have just said something in mid-October when it was decided, a great deal of wondering and angst could have been prevented. And I disagree with your other points as well. sanctimony? hardly so, merely an exchange of opinions my dear Susie so please play nice I'm curious what makes you assume Adam knew about the delay prior to his meeting with the london people on monday? Also, there is the lawsuit to consider, which wasn't filed two weeks ago.... there are things happening behind the scenes that we have NO WAY of knowing about and which Adam is not going to publically tell us about because everything he says gets picked up by the media. He gives us as much information as he can and it's honestly a lot more than most artists give their fans. As I've said before to me the wondering and angsting is all for naught because the music will happen when it happens and not a moment before so IMO it's a waste of energy to get tied up in knots over something we have no control over. I enjoy that Adam hasn't really been out of the public eye this entire three years. We're always getting little goodies and treats from him, be it the EPs, DVDs, BTM, Russian concert, or whatever other event we've been blessed with.
