Well, I have my favs, but am trying to choose which songs I think might work best with the Velvet songs and feel. I doubt anybody will put "Shame" as number one, but I always hoped he'd perform it live...think it's really shallow and fun and I can picture him moving/dancing and showing off with it....would add a nice lite moment. It needs background singers and I think he'll have those. I also think Take Back would work well with the drum beat, background singers, etc. I had more trouble picking the top 6, than the lower 6...lol.

Take Back *Adam's going to find that one a challenge, though, if he chooses it! Remember that he once acknowledged that he'd had some electronic "help" on the recording---no doubt on the amazing bridge. By the way, one song that I've always wished he'd sung on American Idol---and at any time since---is One Republic's Come Home. He sang it so beautifully at the Upright Cabaret in 2008, but we need a new version (and with better sound!). Welcome, Rupertschnauzer! Just butting in to say that I am amazed that you mention Come Home because this ‘songs not sung on tour’ poll had already started me thinking how much I would love to hear him sing that now....especially as I think it would be even better now with his more mature, rounded voice. (In truth I found those Upright Cabaret performances a little sharp for me). I remember him saying that he asked to sing it on Idol and was very disappointed when they said no - because Kris Allen was already singing a One Republic song (Apologise?) and the producers didn’t want two on the same show. We're on the same page here I know it's ancient history now, but it was around the time on Idol that Adam was asked to sing U2's "One" (which didn't really work in that ridiculously truncated version) that he'd wanted to sing "Come Home." It would have been perfect timing for him to showcase his more intimate side again at that point in the competition. Oh well! I can always console myself with the thought that he wouldn't have been able to do much with the song in that standard 1 minute, 45 seconds they allocated on Idol. Some songs need room to breathe! And that's why he needs to sing it again  Adam once singled out Come Home as a song he dearly wished he'd written. And I agree: he would sing it even better now than in 2008! |
