This is hard! Adam has said “Velvet” is a “world,” and it seems like a kinda trippy, retro, psychedlic world; he’s said it is about “love,” that it is more “his baby” than all the others, that it is about “real” music and musicians, and that it reflects the kind of music he loves. Okay, then. Of course, Adam can tweak anything into something else, but I think some of these songs would be more natural fits than others.

1) “Nirvana” - ugh, sooooo beautiful - could definitely fit in “Velvet” world, I think. I can picture him singing it to whomever he leaves that club that with (Javi 😢) ...

2) “Can't Go Home” - I love this dance-y song, and I think it would be easy for Adam to tweak it, especially the instrumentals, to sound dreamier, more psychedelic “Velvet.”

3) “Things I Didn’t Say” - one of my favorites of these songs, and I think it could fit (but with less drums).

4) “Two Fux” - I think the sentiment expressed in this song is a Declaration of Independence, and I can picture him singing it in velvety hippie garb!

5) “Shame” - another favorite, from the way he sings: : “Sha - a - a - a - a - me,” it is obvious to me he is really enjoying himself

6) “By the Rules” - sounds reggae-ish to me - different world

7) “Map” - this very pretty song, I think, would need lots of “tweaking.” To me, it does not have very much “trippiness” going on.

8) “Pick U Up”

9) “Can’t Let You Go” - AMAZING song, my god, who else could sing this? To me, it is like a vocal showcase, it is turned up to “11” 99% of the time. I don’t think it fits, but who cares? I would LOVE for him to sing this.

10) “Take Back” - another great song - does not seem “Velvet”-y - it is Black-Leather-y!

11) “Heavy Fire”

12) “Master Plan” - Thematically similar to “Super Power” but “Super Power” is so much better, WAY better, IMO.  Also, I can never quite not think “master race” when I hear “Master Plan” - no one’s fault, but there it is.

Great idea. I’ve always wanted to hear him sing Can’t Let You Go and Pick you Up live.
