Adam Deep Cut Appreciation Poll
During Adam's last Instagram Live Chat on February 25, 2020 he said that he might sing one of his songs that he had never performed live solo. Well that certainly got us thinking and this poll was born. We identified twelve songs that he had never performed live on solo tour or only performed once in a one-off. They are:
Pick U Up
Can't Let You Go
Nirvana
Two Fux
Heavy Fire
Take Back
Map
Can't Go Home
Things I Didn't Say
Master Plan
By the Rules
Shame
From these songs, we will determine 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place choices just in case he needs our input on more than one deep cut song to sing during the Velvet Tour. So you are really voting on which song you think he will sing, not necessarily which song you like the most. To give every song a great shot at winning and everyone their say, the poll will use Ranked Choice Voting (RCV). I don't know how many of you guys are familiar with RCV but the method allows a voters to give weight to not only their first choice but also their second, third, and so on choices.
Here's the way it will work. I will start by compiling everyone's first choice and counting the number of first place votes for each song. Then I will eliminate the song with the least votes. The good news is if that song was your choice, you are not out of the game because I will not eliminate your vote, just the song. Instead I will add your second choice vote to the mix which maintains the votes of everyone.
Now, there are eleven songs left and I start the process again by eliminating the song with the least votes. If that was your song then I will put your second choice vote back into the mix or even your third choice if both your 1st and 2nd choices have been eliminated. That's why it is better to rank ALL twelve of the songs because it keeps your vote in the mix. If you only pick your top favorite and it was the 12th ranked song, then, Poof!, your vote is gone and your opinions have not properly been taken into account.
Now, there are ten songs left and the process begins again...
I will do the re-allocating and re-ranking nine times until I am left with the top three songs. This method gives more weight at the top to the generally best liked songs. If everyone ranks all twelve songs then I will end up with the total number of votes in the top three songs as the number of people who voted. You can certainly rank fewer if you wish but it will be possible that all your song choices are eliminated.
I am really excited to see how it turns out.
