Adam Lambert And Dr. Luke To Strike Gold With "Better Than I Know Myself"
After previously announcing that Adam Lambert would be releasing an album, the Glambert took to his Twitter account to announce the name of his sophomore album and single.
Dr. Luke will give Adam another shot at superstardom by producing the lead single, “Better Than I Know Myself”. Frequent partners in crime Cirkut and Ammo co-produced the song, while Claude Kelly helped with the songwriting.
A hit waiting to happen? I think so!
Scheduled for a spring release, the album has been titled “Trespassing” and will include a title track he co-wrote with the amazing Pharell Williams! Additional collaborators will be Bonnie McKee, Oligee, and the amazing Sia!

Has anyone addressed the question of if Adam was added as a "last minute" presenter because of the success of his EMA performance with Queen? Do we know when he was asked to be a presenter? Has it been in the works and just a well kept secret, or was it due to the EMA's? Maybe yall already talked about this? The theory I heard was that Adam had a performance slot until his single got pushed back. That's when they added Daughtry to the line up. So Adam got this instead? Not fact at all, but good speculation. There are very good sources for this rumor. Except it got a bit mangled. In July, when Adam's album was slated for November 21, 2011, RCA is rumored to have lined up a performance slot for Adam on the AMAs. When they pushed the album to Spring 2012, they put Daughtry into the album slot and arranged for Daughtry to be on the AMAs. Makes sense but I could never get anyone to confirm it -- even off the record. I have confirmed that Adam was a scheduled surprise presenter before the EMAs. |

I am dying to see it, but one of the files I downloaded recently --- I think of the EMAs because that was about the only thing I downloaded --- caused my computer to run very slowly and use the maximum CPUs - whatever they are. Something was obviously running, unseen, in the background, using up all the power. I had to use the restore to an earlier date function to get my computer back and working. So, I am leery now. |

All that being said, Beg for Mercy is an interesting album. It shows one of the avenues Lambert pursued in his long struggle to succeed as an artist. Ultimately, Lambert decided that the fit was not right, and changed directions. Still, the journey is worth listening to from a historical perspective. Also worth listening to from a musical perspective. Lambert, five years ago, already had the pipes, the range and the passion he is known for. This unfinished, fledgling work still sounds better than most rock music being touted and released today. But, Beg For Mercy ain't all that bad, as the historical document, while we wait. If you are looking for something rather raw sounding, with a hard rock edge and strong vocals, and you don't object to funding a recording Lambert doesn't want released, you may be interested in giving BFM a listen. Ugh, I'm with Lulu here. These two paragraphs make my blood boil & my stomach upset. We created a BFM thread didn't we? I see absolutely no reason why this should be part of today's thread. After all, today's daily news thread is labled "AMA's Red Carpet, Pre-Show and Show" . This does not seem to fit that title. |
