The latest mystery
2.26.11 by Q3
I think we need to call in Nancy Drew, Sherlock Holmes and Inspector Poireau because there is a mystery I can't even find a clue about.
On February 3rd Adam tweeted the news about the new version of Aftermath:
Adam Lambert:
“Exciting news: Releasing a revamped version of AFTERMATH. Proceeds to benefit The Trevor Project. Wait till you hear it- it's now a hot pop dance anthem.”
“No set release date... Putting finishing touches on the track. Stay tuned...”

“No set release date... Putting finishing touches on the track. Stay tuned...”
Since then, there has been no news on a release date, and very little chatter from anyone about the release. Just a few intriguing tweets like these.

So it is almost a month since we learned there would be a new version of Aftermath and we still know almost nothing. Release in about 30 days? Big news?
Where and When?
Where will the new Aftermath be debuted? Will it be released in late March or early April after the DVD release as many fans are guessing? Is there something special planned to promote the song? And what does a hot dance mix of Aftermath sound like?
No surprise here: Adam Lambert leads the nominations for Flecking Awards
Source: Flecking Records 2.26.11 By Frankie Genchi
Adam Lambert bagged the most nominations in the “Flecking Awards“.
The American Idol legend bagged an impressive EIGHT nominations – the most of all other nominees.
Adam dominates the music category, being up for Best Male Musician, Best Single, Best Album AND Best Video, but it doesn’t stop there.
Mr. Lambert has also racked up a few nominations in the style section, one for Best Dressed Male and one for Best Hair Do.
It will come as no surprise to fans that Adam is also up for Sexiest Male – Adam actually topped a poll on Flecking Records last year to be named the Sexiest Male of 2010.

The non-story that will not die…..
2.26.11 by Q3
Take a memo – James Durbin is not Adam Lambert and Adam fans are not rioting in the streets.
Yes, I know that most of these articles are mostly snark. But it is getting tiresome and I really just wanted to say – James is not as bad as these descriptions and, although IMO he made a foolish song choice, it was not that big a deal. Time to move on.
My take of Idol blog posts and Twitter was that most Adam fans just dismissed it or laughed about it a bit. (There were a lot of non-Adam fans posting about how upset the Adam fans were/would be.
But the Adam fans quickly went back to doing what they do best, being ninja’s on the hunt for Adam news and grabbing the new VEVO Sleepwalker video to add to their collections and counting the number of photos Adam needs to sign for the charity: water campaign and.......well, just being Adam fans.
I want to give one Idol blogger credit for seeing the humor in all the Idol bubble activity…Jim Cantiello from MTV News wrote this on 2.25.11.
First thing's first, let's address the giant Tourettey/Aspergery elephant in the room: James Durbin, whose final audition (and ultimate entry into the Top 24) caused riots on the streets. (And when I say "Caused riots on the streets," I really mean, "Caused MJ's Big Blog to crash.") It was the gasp heard 'round the "Idol" bubble, when Durbin equated his reckless shriek to Adam Lambert's controlled wail. Then he performed "A Change Is Gonna Come" in the style of Lambert's season eight finale tour de force. Except Durbin replaced all of Adam's nuanced restraint and emotional honesty with manic red-faced grandstanding. It was the musical equivalent of Elizbeth Berkley's infamous caffeine pill meltdown from "Saved By the Bell." To paraphrase Jessie Spano, "He's so excited; I'm so scared."
I'll spare readers (and James) the lecture because we all know he struggles with a disorder that I imagine clouds self-awareness. (I truly think he intended his Lambert comparison to be a shout-out to one of his inspirations and not an arrogant dismissal of Adam's otherworldly vocal chops.) Instead, I'll simply urge Durbin to hone in on his own musical identity, and might suggest he avoid any future songs (or musical notes) that might end up with him being compared to a singer so far out of his league.
