Hi everyone! I've been wanting to share this story, and my squeeing about it, for the past few days. So I get an email from a friend, saying "my friend Pam who lives in Seattle is a songwriter for Adam Lambert." W-wa-WUT?????? First, WHY is this the first time you're telling me this? Second, aaaahhhhhh I want to meet Adam! Ok, so I did once, but nevertheless. Third, last album or this one? Is he working on Adam #2? Well, her name is Pam Miller, and I'm told she "likes him a lot" (of course!), she's working with on something now, she was at the Grammys, and she met Adam through Simon. I'm not sure why, but I definitely flailed over this one! This is my best guess --- Pamela Winter Miller --- LA based songwriter. Thank you, Q3! And thank you Tatum. Too bad about Emmas, but at least we were able to enjoy the

Q3 -- I deleted the part of this post that was about the moved discussion. Left the rest.
Not long ago I was reading a review of a local dance theater production (professional). The second act was an MJ tribute, with an MJ impersonator and MJ-esque choreography. I was amazed that several commenters said they didn't approve of the crotch-grabs. (It was a "family show.") I thought, "Really? We've been watching MJ grab his crotch for 30 years and now we're going to stress about it?" From other clues in the posts, it would seem the commenters were parents in their 30s and 40s.
I don't get it. ??? ???

Ugh! Have spent the last two solid hours putting together the WORST piece of furniture I've ever assembled. Trundle bed from Pottery Barn Kids. Heavy as hell. Unwieldy. Huge, with finicky alignment pegs and a full 3/4 of the screws AREN'T predrilled. And, one of the side rails got knocked off from where it was propped up on the wall, denting the brand new bed that been assembled for LESS than a week the day before my parents and in-laws are coming to scope out the new furniture (well, there's birthday cake too, but its really about the furniture. "Why yes she *does* have a "proper" freaking bed. Looksie! And no we haven't renovated the bathroom yet. Close your eyes if it bugs you that much"). Plus the dining room electrical switch fritzed out and I so don't have time to fix it before tomorrow. Coming to my Adamtopia happy place. Gonna read about frogs and some more about Hoopla's dream. [exhaustedly wanders back to page 5] ETA: BTW - I don't see any frogs. Feeling left out.

Sensory responses to the same stimulus varies dramatically at an individual level -- everything from sound, to colors, to taste/flavors and so on. And the associated brain activity and other biological responses vary dramatically. The reasons for the differences are not completely understood but the best current research indicates that it is physiological, experiential and cultural. OT, but this reminds me of peeps who have synesthesia... Any synesthetes here on Atop? I've often wondered what people with synesthesia "see" while listening to Adam music!! hubpages.com/hub/whatissynesthesiaCan't answer that question --- but there are many reports about autistic children who pay attention to very little or no music EXCEPT Adam. I was seated next to a severely autistic young women at a GNT concert -- she has no response to the opening act -- Allison Iraheta -- but when Adam started to sing, she was engaged and her face was filled with emotional responses. When he stop singing, she retreated back into her own world. Also at Nokia NY (#2 I think) there was a large group of hearing impaired students with a couple women signing the entire concert. I later learned that most of these kids were total deaf but honestly they were just as entranced as everyone else by Adam. The "spell" he casts involved more than his voice. (Duh! like we never noticed anything else!) There are the only two times when Adam was on stage that I paid a lot of attention to how someone else was responding to the performance. Not sure what it means. But reading some of the comments on Sleepwaker video makes me believe that this DVD has successfully captured a bit of the magic of Adam live.

Hey, Hoopla - I enjoyed reading about your dream very much, too (I pictured that alien as looking like that cartoon one - Roger - in American Dad), as well as the interpretations that followed.
Whenever students tell me they're not creative, I like to point out to them that they're the artist who creates their dreams - that every bit of it really does come from some part of them.
(If you haven't already, think about the actual language in the dream: once in my distant past I was interested in someone and casually, I hope, asked someone else about his status, only to find out, disappointingly, that he was very much already involved with a girl who "looked like a Playboy model." Oh, well. That night I dreamed I was trying to find him, but he wasn't "there" because he was taking care of his bunny. In the dream, and when I woke up, I'd thought "bunny rabbit" - then, later in the day, I got the little joke my subconscious mind was making.)

Proof that something is changing in America.
In my adopted hometown of Tupelo, Mississippi -- the local cable channel was forced to remove all the cable channels that were perceived as promoting a "homosexual lifestyle". That included MSNBC, Bravo, and LOGO.
Now, LOGO is available on our local cable. BUT (and there is often a bit but)
---- it is secretly available. You have to learn about it in a Gay Chatroom. The channel guide does not list it by name and all the programs are listed as "to be announced".
So it is a secret cable channel -- too funny.
