Sensory responses to the same stimulus varies dramatically at an individual level -- everything from sound, to colors, to taste/flavors and so on. And the associated brain activity and other biological responses vary dramatically. The reasons for the differences are not completely understood but the best current research indicates that it is physiological, experiential and cultural. OT, but this reminds me of peeps who have synesthesia... Any synesthetes here on Atop? I've often wondered what people with synesthesia "see" while listening to Adam music!! hubpages.com/hub/whatissynesthesiaHi seoulmate and everybody else, haven't posted in a while, but wanted to respond to this 'cause I think I have synesthesia-I've always "seen" music, letters, numbers in color, moods and feelings also. I can totally relate to everything written in the link you've posted, except that I don't think of it as something weird in the slightest-to me, it's something beautiful:-) To answer your question, it depends on the song, but generally speaking, when I listen to FYE the album, it's like all colors of the rainbow to me, like a big, warm, happy explosion of the color spectrum in my mind. I don't know how to describe it better. I love it:-)

Angelina Kalahari, the opera singer who is an uber-Adam fan, has synesthesia. We have emailed back and forth a couple of times about Adam's voice. I could shoot her an email and ask what colors she sees when Adam sings. I don't promise an answer --- she is wicked busy --- but I can try. OMG, really??? I would srsly love to know this!!!

Well, I never really thought about it much, to be honest with you. Actually, until like a year or two ago, I thought that everyone sees-or associates-colors with things-as it turns out, I guess that's not the case:-)

Cassie, terrible liberty here, but if you do get something back about this, do you think you could pm me to let me know where you've posted the response : . I try to read almost everything as much as possible, but RL has me involved with 3 new grandchildren (<12 weeks) and my time is not quite all my own any more. I'm not a music geek in any way shape or form, but I am technical, analytical and generally boring like that :-/. This fascinates me (no real reason why??) and I would hate to miss the answer. And thank you for all the insights in the Salon. I used to got to DDD for my validation, but now I go there (I'm in the UK and it's essential for my sanity!) ETA: I see musicgirl's post. Wow . Did you see the series Heroes when they had one of their 'special people' having this. I wondered if they got even close on their visualisation of it.

Awww, hoppers----- [grins] Feeling less cranky now. My daughter just brought me a biscuit and and some sausage a few minutes ago. Admittedly, she put them on a used plate that was still covered with pink frosting, but she assured me that she gave me the sausage that the cat DIDN'T lick. However, I was so hungry I didn't care. Must have been seriously underproteinated, b/c felt significantly better once I snarfed it down! Admittedly, I *should* probably be wondering why the sausage has been out and not put away since lunchtime.....
