I'd guess that the majority of the 1.3 million people following Adam on twitter will buy his album as soon as it is available. I don't understand why they'd follow him if they weren't great fans of his music. And the most true fans (like we) will buy many of them and give to our friends, who haven't discovered Adam yet.  Well you gotta take into account that not ALL his followers are fans. Some are twitter accounts that are bots, news twitters or companies...etc etc. I'd assume the majority are...but I wouldn't assume he would sell the exact amount of albums as the number of his followers. That nearly 1.3 million Twitter follower number is worldwide. Worldwide sales of FYE are around that same number. First week U.S. only sales for Trespassing....... that's a wait and see........... |

We talked about this before once didn't we? There was some article that showed that there wasn't a significant correlation between twitter followers and music sales? It's great of course as promo and communication with those who are frequently on twitter. Of the artists I follow on twitter, I haven't bought albums from at least half of them I'd say, and aside from Adam I definitely don't have more than one or two releases from each. But I am aware at least peripherally of what they might be up to, and I am interested in them at least casually. I'm much more likely to consider buying their music, and to know when new items are released. I'll read that article...sounds interesting. And hey if more followers = more sales for real then yay! I'm just always cautious when it comes to basing things like sales on twitter or facebook numbers...but if it does have a legit correlation than that's pretty cool. Hrm...I just read that article and it makes it seem that there really isn't much of a correlation between followers and sales. At least that's what I got out of it. More reason why, imo, the music needs to stand on it's own. yeah, i agree |

Has Durbin had much radio play or had many TV promo appearances? Someone on twitter tweeted that Durbin sold LESS than William Hing did for his debut cd. OUCH. lol |

It's gonna be a long few months if we start angsting about sales numbers already... and no reason to. Buzz is positive and building, so I for one am going to take glass filling up and going to overflow perspective from here on :-)

Has Durbin had much radio play or had many TV promo appearances? No he hasn't...... and he finished in 4th place, but if these numbers hold up his first week sales will be much less than Allison Iraheta from season 8, who also finished 4th. |

I truly believe that he will sell around 150K and debut top 2-3 his week and it will be upward from there. Not listening to any angst.  |

I have BUICK following me all of a sudden, and a girl/woman who I can't quite figure out but who seems a little iffy, like she should be advertising on Craig's list, etc. I hardly ever tweet, just follow some people who seem up on Adam info, so no idea why I'm on their list. Seems random. |

I seriously cannot stand the guy and his voice.. but I know from MJ site that he's been promoting his album and visiting the radio stations and I guess he has music video too. HOWEVER, for his fans all of the above cannot be called promotion, because VH1 still hasn't play the music video yet or they haven't invited him yet or they haven't seen him on the TV talk show yet. Because they are so mean to Adam, I seriously tempted to ask if they wanted the kind of promotion that Adam gets, but I have to bit my tongue, coz MJ already warn the poster on several thread to be nice... . |
