Has Durbin had much radio play or had many TV promo appearances? Well, I know Durbin *has* been doing the promo rounds. Unfortunately, there's a....subtlety.....that's needed in the acoustic live singing typically preformed during promo visits that James seems to be....um....lacking. Radio and other promo served Adam insanely well as he is a master of adjusting the song to the environment. (Plus Adam, ahem, can also sing in key)ETA: I see this topic has already been covered several times! Oh.. that's another thing that I wanted to brought up there when I found out just now that JD actually said in the interview in USA article, he said when he was a teenager he first realized his voice's special when he sing along with Robert Plant and he could hit those same notes as Plant and he wanted to go higher than Plant .... mmm.. I really wanted to say.. but will it be a perfect picth tough

Sooo.. talking about Rolling Stone.. Adam will not be on the cover this time? Just making sure if I have to run and fight over a copy for me ;D (I still will run to get the December copy for me, both RS & EW ;D) [grin] Must remember to sneak out while hubband is working on pies! (I'm not allowed to cook; people know me too well ) Okay I must now.. when these two magazines will be on the store? I was thinking next week?

It's gonna be a long few months if we start angsting about sales numbers already... and no reason to. Buzz is positive and building, so I for one am going to take glass filling up and going to overflow perspective from here on :-) Who's with me! Me! Me!

We talked about this before once didn't we? There was some article that showed that there wasn't a significant correlation between twitter followers and music sales? It's great of course as promo and communication with those who are frequently on twitter. Of the artists I follow on twitter, I haven't bought albums from at least half of them I'd say, and aside from Adam I definitely don't have more than one or two releases from each. But I am aware at least peripherally of what they might be up to, and I am interested in them at least casually. I'm much more likely to consider buying their music, and to know when new items are released. ETA: here's one article about it: www.musicrow.com/2010/12/do-twitter-followers-equal-sales/ I'm definitely on #TeamNoAngst, but I am fascinated by social media and so thanks for this article. Seems that simple follower count has no bearing on sales, but I wonder if there is a correlation between sales and: 1- # of followers who tweet to the artist with some regularity (e.g. once a week or more) or 2- # of followers who RT or reply to a tweet by the artist Seems that these might be measures of more engaged fans who are genuinely interested and eager for the artist's product. Like Rabbitrabbit, I follow quite a few artists that I am only a casual fan of. I may or may not buy their product. I sure hope some grad students are studying this stuff, because I find it SO interesting. :D
