Nice of Adam to check in with us and let us know of his latest projects - lucky him (and us) that he continues to find ways and opportunities that feed his creative soul. I like to think of him as a spirited and inspiring person, yet I am always surprised how little creativity he shows with his IG chats. Today, he asked six times in less than 5 minutes if there were "any questions" and I think that his time as well as ours would be so much better used if he just "rambled on" for a bit about pretty much anything that he would like to share his thoughts on, in addition to sharing news of course. Wouldn't that be more fun for everybody? He could always conclude with a Q&A for those who still have questions that had not been answered. I assume that Adam should have things to talk about while in a very different city in a different country away from home, and it doesn't always have to be career focused. I actually hinted at that to Adam today in my response to the chat he posted. Maybe he is responding to the criticism he has received from some fans that he doesn’t connect enough with them. I think he’s trying to be spontaneous but it’s hard if you’re not getting any questions. Maybe he’s not comfortable rambling to people he doesn’t know. There has to be a better way to "connect" than him endlessly scrolling through questions to find one he likes, and I have seen good questions overlooked in the past, so I have given up on that type of fan participation. Adam might be a bit uncomfortable about chatting freely, but it may be worth a try. He did a pretty good job with a live session not too long ago where he had to switch things up. It was the chat which Pete B., where he took on a different role by asking questions and leading the conversation, and I think he did well. As others have mentioned before, I definitely see room for improvement for Adam when it comes to connecting with his fans. I see it as part of his career management.

I agree his chats are not well managed but I think he has to figure it out for himself. Connecting with fans you don’t see is different than connecting with people one on one or goofing around with friends.

Personally, I'm just glad he actually told us what the "exciting project" is that he's working on, particularly given the nature of what that project is. A new musical usually has a gestation period measured in years, not weeks or months - if it comes to fruition at all - so letting us know that's what it is helps to manage our expectations. I still remember how incredibly frustrating it was to spend years hearing him talk about new music that seemed imminent, but somehow never materialized. In this case, the frustration would have been compounded by not even knowing exactly what we were waiting for or having any idea how long the wait might be.
As for fandom connection, I don't recall him ever having management or P/R (and of course now they're one and the same) that ever really put much emphasis on it, for reasons I don't really understand, and after all this time I really don't expect that to change. I can't help but wonder if the aggressiveness and intrusiveness of some of the OG Glamberts put him off right from the start, and he's never quite gotten over it. In any event, he and his team do pretty much the bare minimum; for example, it would not surprise me if the fan club again withers and dies due to neglect. For the Instagram Lives, I do think it would be better for all concerned if he just figured out what information he wanted to impart, gave his spiel, and took questions afterward if the spirit moved him. I don't blame him for being awkward given the format he's using. A little structure would make it much easier for him, IMO.

A fun reaction to Adam's Believe performance. I love her! Yes, same here! And without even consciously naming it, she gets to the heart of what he does with this performance (as with many many others): he makes the lyrics "pop out" and makes you feel them. Even with Queen (and I am a big Queen fan, even before I knew Adam), there have been many moments in front of the stage in which I went 'Ah! Now I get it' (followed by jumping up and down or crying really hard, depending on the song). Also... can I put out a wish to the universe that I really really hope I can see them one more time? I am not confident at all that the 2021 shows will indeed go on... But I do hope they will, very much so. And (although now I am getting greedy)... Adam solo too please, universe. It breaks my heart that the Velvet tour didn't happen. But whatever he will dream up next will be amazing as well and I so want to see it when he does go out there to sing his own songs again.
