Cute. Apparently "当当" (Dang Dang) is Adam's Chinese nickname in Chinese characters, so mindchnger found a picture of Adam that looks like the characters for his nickname. It's totally the hair. I dunna know... fun to hear him....I like the first part,
The second part...."get over it" well I bet he would change up the gravelly tone of it.Or maybe it is the instrumentaion....for that part.... Bad me....PICKY PICKY!!! Guess a wait and see is in order. I am inclined to think it is being shopped and not on the album.
Tommy with the band. Sounds like he is here to stay. Guess I do not know all this stuff about crays and Sauli bashing etc. ..just read about it here. In person I quite liked hearing Tommy speaking to fans/once with me at River Rock. He was respectful and pleasant to talk to. His musicality I leave to those who understand music/instrumentation. When he played M's part on the TV show that M could not attend ..his take was different but still ...it sounded good to me.
Also Tommy has mentioned he really likes playing jazz music and would like to do more of that someday. Does that type for guitar work/experience align with the skills needed for funky stuff? As much as I thought Lisa looked/appeared older that the rest of the band (even though she wasn't)... her voice with Adam's was great and she looked interesting. I think Adam could use some cool looking chick in the band.
PS ...RE the comment on Tommy's neck/hair swaying....
Adam and Tommy will both have neck injuries if they continue with the neck swinging business. LOL But not really funny if Adam snaps his neck!! (funny that I worry about that)

That being said...I am sooooooooo glad for the directional change post Pharrell epiphany. This song seems good enough...but I think these songs post directional change will be GREAT. I think the song descriptions of "dance, funk, NIN, dubstep, pop" are going to make a better and more current and commercial album over another whole album of WWFM type music which was his direction way early on. This was EXACTLY my reaction, chunkey. This snippet was okay, Adam sounds fantastic, but I expect much more from this album. There is almost a dated sound to the snippet that I didn't care for. I think the new direction will be brilliant. I wanna hear the FUNK!  Pretty much my reaction as well. Bring on the funk! |

I think Get Over It was a catchy pop-dance tune and it was wonderful to hear Adam's voice on some new music. As far as Adam's backing band, I hope that Era #2 band has a more fluid sound and its members are more flexible musically and adept at improvisation. I would rather the band members not be well-known to keep focus on the solo artist, as it should be. I thought the fan service on stage with Tommy was fun at the time. But given that they're not playing characters, I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable with it now with both Adam and Tommy having SOs. I think I'd find it a little squicky. But that's just me. I will also add that having always given a dubious side-eye to the way the band and others in Adam's fold solicited and/or accepted gifts or"donations" from fans and watching the way some of those gifts have played out over time, I would like to see some changes in that regards. Given the recent questions about some of the use of those gifts as well as the way the gifts facilitate what I'd call over-investment by some fans, I'd really advise (but don't expect to see) that his band members would have to agree not to solicit or accept gifts of cash or substance. I would hope the fans learned a valuable lesson with the Monte situation when it comes to gifting band members. It obviously bought no loyalty to Adam if that's what fans were hoping nor did it bring the fans closer to Adam since he never participated in any event that Monte sold to the highest bidder. Cool that Claude Kelly includes Kelly, Adam and Fantasia on his list of singers he always feels. I'd agree with that. Those three really pour their hearts into their music IMO. Listened to the demo and gotta say I'm not sure how I feel about it. I like his voice on it but it sounds over-digitized. I'm hopeful that what makes the album will be much more natural sounding. Actual danger? I don't know but some of the worst ones wish death on Sauli every single day which is just fucking pathetic when you consider these aren't tweeners but rather grown 40+ year old women. Are these people on twitter? I'm just curious because I've never seen anything like that. |

TatumFalse alarm!! It's the same snippet over and over again! Gelly, no problem, I realized it was the same snipped on a loop. It's just easier when I don't have to play it over and over myself ..... Oh boy!! Are we ready for new music or what! It's good that the first comes the single out and the album later, because if the whole album would drop now I would probably get fired from work ....LOL. That's why I'm happy that hubby will still be working when the single and album drop - he'd be rolling his eyes big time at how much time I would be spending just listening to Adam sing! He already thinks I'm nuts for the stanning I do daily. If he only knew..... |

A good keyboardist can do this too. The WLL at FS was driven by Zac, not Monte.
