I think the only way A would be performing at the Olympics opening/closing would be WITH Queen - I would expect it would be similar to the EMA's and he might not be introduced separately, but just as part of Queen. Since Queen is without a doubt a British band, I don't think there would be much concern that 1 "member" was American. It doesn't even concern me that he might not get mentioned - as we learned from the EMA's, the people that heard him who didn't know him said "Who is THAT?!?!?!" and looked it up. Also, thecommentators that are describing what is going on are pretty likely to mention him. + exactly! re the WWL by Leona - it is a "male" song, it NEEDS to be sang by a male IMO to be sexy (and Adam made it erotic)... not sure what was the idea of having it sung at the Olympics... - was it "London loves you" message? Also, I think the Opening ceremonies are watched by a wider audience than the Closing - just my feeling, I did not do the research... I still don't understand Q3's "NO"... London Festival is great, but the exposure of the Opening ceremonies is sure to be the largest possible, comparable only to the Football World Cup. So, saying "no" to the largest stage in the world makes no sense to me, regardless of who the sponsors are. By this logic the athletes should not be participating as well....

I see no reason for Adam to not perform at the Olympics with Queen. It woud be a tremendous honor! I truly hope it happens (unless he is performing at The Nokia that weekend.) ;D

Or he could step in for Plant with Led Zepp. I never dream about personalities and famous people, but I had a dream the other night that Adam sang WLL with Zep at a tribute show or something. I definitely woke up smiling.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Sagittarius!!Thank-you for the obit link ljsmack, please extend our heartfelt condolences when you see savvy. nonotme, I keep meaning to tell you that both my son and daughter were impressed when I told them that I "know" (haha!) the mom of a Dodo!! LOL! Will try to catch their performance tonight. ...as for Adam and the Olympics. Can't see a negative.... Q3 I recall you not wanting him to perform with Queen on the EMA's - well THAT kinda went well. ...sending positive energy to George Michael. I'm rather shocked at the news and hoping his situation isn't as dire as it's being reported. How old is George?

So depending on what articles you read George Michael is either on the mend or on deaths doorstep... hope is the former. I have very fond memories of road trips taken to the tunes on his Faith album, he was a male pop trailblazer and personal issues aside he has a really good voice - not quite Adam good (to my tastes) but good. Actually I think we need to recognise a new music condition called the "Adam effect" - it happens when singers that you previously thought or would have thought were pretty good suddenly leave you kind of cold. Could also be looked at as the Adam scale 1 - 10. 1 being no where near and 10 being as good as... but then of course is all subjective and I am happily biased. I've always been a big George Micheal fan and his FAITH album was great. It was such a shame that his personal life had to overshadow his talent in recent years. I hope he overcomes his health issues and comes back stronger than ever.

I posted link to Savvy92's SIL obit in the ATOP personal news thread. I know many of you expressed your condolences the other nite on the board, but there is a digital condolence book at the link. I will be attending a visitation, since I'm local and Savvy and I enjoyed a lunch this summer. I can never find thta thread! Can you please put the link? Thanks!
