I always took Adam's comment about marriage to be a general one. AND that is about as far as I will ever comment regards that topic. The rest is NOMB (none of my business). #boundaries

Wouldn't it be great if Lee Cherry was doing a new free calendar. Or is it too late for one this year?  I for one, would be lining up to buy my $60 free calendar once again. I lurve it. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to keep on using it and live through 2011 again. :-/ |

OMG this is all SO frustrating! WHY? Why should any goverment must tell you what you 're allowed or not allowed to do with your personal life? And why would other people should tell you how to think or what to do with YOUR life? I know I'm not saying anything new here, I just want to scream right now... What drives me crazy is when a state has a vote on whether to allow gay marriage. The majority should never, ever be allowed to decide what rights the minority should be able to share with them. This is one of my favorite marriage equality signs:  Excellent point!! Love that. And THIS is why I can't even wrap my brain around why there is any debate. It is inherent in the Constitution that the majority cannot vote to deny civil rights to a minority. ...as democracy is conceived today, the minority's rights must be protected no matter how singular or alienated that minority is from the majority society; otherwise, the majority's rights lose their meaning. www.democracyweb.org/majority/principles.phpDenying a large, law-abiding segment of the population a right that is enjoyed by every other citizen over the age of consent is unconstitutional. I just have to share that right now I feel super happy about the not a small amount of glimpses that we have read about the positivity from the music industry towards Adam's album. It looks like RCA and his promo team believes in the album, and that DJs are warm towards it, be it the previews that they have received or the street-cred collaborations he has.
It's really looking good and I'm all proud and happy about it. Still trying not to let my expectations grow unrealistically high, though, but still. A warm and happy feeling right now :D

I am glad that Adam tweeted about his thoughts on marriage this morning and happy that it's being discussed on ATop. I'm hoping that this candid discussion will help us understand each other better. I know that my own experience with marriage and divorce has knocked some of the more romantic notions about marriage completely out of my head. I used to think that a long term committed relationship would and should lead to marriage. I no longer believe that. I never thought Adam meant he planned to get married, but I suppose I was projecting my own thoughts onto Adam in the same way as someone who did think he planned to get married. This may not be very nice, but there are many reasons for Adam not to get married. Millions of them start with $ and one of them starts with D.  my sentiments exactly ;D We all look at various life events through the prism of our own experiences especially in regards to relationships and marriage. Honestly - all the fan talk about Adam's marriage, calling Sauli's parents "in laws",wishing for Adam to meet Sauli's family - all of this is somehow disturbing to me. The boys are happy and in love - this is all we need to know and care about IMO. The rest is merely projections of our individual pre-conceptions and desires... ITA!!! It's like those annoying relatives at holiday gatherings who constantly ask the younger members of the family when they are going to get married, or when they are going to have a baby, or when they are going to have another one. :  I'm happy that Adam has someone in his life that makes him happy. Past that, I seriously don't care to know any more about the relationship. This relationship could last forever or it could end tomorrow- that's how all realetionships are. |
