A poster on one of the boards I check for numbers says he hasn't been able to get any but expects they will leak along with next weeks numbers. So I guess we'll just have to keep our fingers crossed. The problem will be that if only next weeks numbers leak we may not get to backtrack unless he sells enough this week to chart again. If he falls off the chart we may not get the numbers at all. Boo. We may be forced to believe Rene's 39K if we can't get any other numbers!

Just an idea: We know the numbers of Scottys "The Trouble With Girls" (62000) and Brad Paisley/Carrie Underwoods "Remind Me" (30000). ( content.usatoday.com/communities/idolchatter/post/2011/12/idol-track-sales-see-christmas-boom/1) Billboard Hot100 not only about sales, right? But it is sure a big factor. Scotty is at #55, Adam #76 and the other song has not charted. Let's look at the ultimate charts, there we get a little more info: Adam is #77 and scotty #76 There seems to be a point system: BTIKM www.ultimatechart.com/#/songs/39323c63647178/adam-lambert-better-than-i-know-myself?page=10Sales 3 Radio 0,2 Online Watching & Listening 0,3 Overall 3 Scotty song www.ultimatechart.com/#/songs/797a217063676c/scotty-mccreery-the-trouble-with-girls?page=10Sales 3 Radio 6 Online Watching & Listening 4 Fans, Friends & Followers 6 Overall 3 This are the facts. Lets try to interpret them Billboard lets us assume, there is a gap, but Adam has more than 30000 (what would fit, what Renee said (39000)). But what influences this ranking beside the sales? But both have 3 points for sale from ultimate chart, plus scotty is only 1 rank ahead of Adam and has much more points in the other catagories. This definitely doesn't fit to Renees 39000. The gap can not be that big, if they is a gap at all. Adam could even have better numbers, but is on "only" #76 on Billboard is because of the other factors.

For online plays and what plays count I’ve looked at who Billboard uses for their Social 50. Social 50 A ranking of the most active artists on the world’s leading social networking sites. Artists’ popularity is determined by a formula blending their weekly additions of friends/fans/followers along with artist page views and weekly song plays, as measured by Next Big Sound. I know we’ve talked about Next Big Sound before but maybe not in this context. If we look at just plays in their Stats section Adam has listed: Vevo Last.fm MySpace YouTube Rdio Purevolume Kanye West who is 48th most popular artist measured by the Next Big Sound adds YouTube Videos (don’t know how these are different from regular and SoundCloud Justin Bieber - #1 adds Vimeo Videos Neither Kanye nor Justin have Purevolume nextbigsound.com/71616/stats-Adam-Lambert#71616-fans

aralid, let's scroll to the top of your ultimate chart and I think they give us a hint of what they look at with their icons.
I see Yahoo MTV Twitter Facebook MySpace iTunes Amazon AOL YouTube Audioscrobbler (part of last.fm)

Found more info. The company behind the Ultimate Chart was just bought this month by LiveNation.
Here are some partners listed. Not sure which ones other than we've already listed match the logos.
Yahoo! Music, Amazon, iTunes, YouTube, VEVO, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, MTV, ClearChannel, MediaBase, AOL, Napster, Microsoft Zune, We Are Hunted, LastFM
Tunecore, CD Baby, Disc Makers, MySpace Music, Reverb Nation, Topspin, Nimbit

Interpreting the points in these catagories, it looks to me, as if Adam has more sales than scotty, 62000. But is it possible, that Adam has sold more and is 19 ranks behind scotty on Billboard?

Streaming doesn't account for much but radio airplay is a significant factor on the Hot 100 so since Scotty's song is getting pretty regular airplay then he would rank higher than someone who might have the same sales but little or no airplay like Adam. Bottom line is that the most we can determine at this point is that Renee's numbers are not unreasonable and we're pretty sure his numbers are over 30,000. We can make all kinds of inferences but we actually KNOW pretty much nothing at all.

Well here's some to play with even though I think it's kind of pointless.
Last week Scotty's song was #84 on the Hot 100 with 18,000 sold. So he jumped 29 spots based on the increase in sales from 18,000 to 62,000. But all that tells me is that it is reasonable to assume Adam sold 30,000 or more.
ETA: I don't see a way to look at last week's Ultimate chart to see what Scotty's sales points were then but if you can find that you might have a little more to work with.
