I have been thinking about this today with all the excitement of the single being released in December and all the DJ tweets which we never had before.
One of the things that has changed tremendously from the FYE release is that Adam is proven to have very interested, passionate, and enthusiastic fans ... you know, US! These fans have spread beyond the Idol base and are worldwide. The radio peeps now acknowledge this, hence all the tweets and responses we are getting from them.
Yep, it is going to be good.
ETA: Furthermore, I don't think that we need to worry so much about how, when, and why we call into radio stations. Of course there is some etiquette but I really think that the radio industry has us down as a good lot. Every fanbase has its crazies but overall, I think we have a good rep; intelligent and passionate.

The tweet exchanges have a very different feel this time around. I think there was some anti-idol-fan prejudice coloring DJ-fan interactions in the FYE era that seems pretty irrelevant these days. As you say, every super-star has their nutty followers--for non-idol stars that's just seen as further confirmation of their stardom. Adam, increasingly, falls into this category now. I can't imagine that we'll be seeing the kind of cautioning we were getting last time around with Trespassing. ETA: and the change in attitude is warranted: just look at how many newer fans we had delurk here over the past few days, weeks, and months, and most of them never knew Adam from Idol. I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto. ;D |
