a little tmi there, chunkey! I get all your points about WWFM ...but I have faith that Adam and team are also very aware of this and have taken so long to nail down the single exactly for this reason. We want a SMASH but I'm willing to bet Adam and Co. want it even more. JMO Wise words that we would all do well to remember. They've got this.

I am seriously ready for all this to end. Chunkey, I'm with you on the CHR/HAC concern. My heart seriously sank when I realized that. *sigh* out of our hands at this point THAT's what struck me most too....what the hell? Adam Lambert wants to be a pop star and his first single is so ambiguous radio doesn't know where to send it??!! HUH?!!! Okay, I'm not really feelin' this guy...like tigerlily says, methinks his perspective is a tad skewed.

Ok I don't get it. I don't even care if Glamazon is a troll (which points to yes at this point) and I don't even care if Toby likes it...what bothers me is the line where they need to decide where it should live on stations across the country. WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT MEAN?!?! Adam wants to be a POP star. Not an HAC star and this worries me that HAC is what they are thinking for this single. NGL, I am gonna love having new music but I will be very pissed if they stamp him with the HAC label right off the bat. He needs to be all over CHR stations and finally crack KIIS and shit and I am worried this single ain't gonna do it unless it smashes like Bruno Mars' songs and/or has a r&b/urban edge to it... IDK. This worries me ngl and I don't angst that much. And can't say the title? I am soo confused lol. The other peeps who heard it said there was only one mid tempo and unless BTIKM was changed like the maybe troll said to an uptempo, then the midtempo song we are gonna get is a totally diff song, one possibly changed at last minute. Yay tho for the Queen stuff! You are not alone. This was the part that stuck out for me. DNW Adam on HAC right off and that is the kind of song the BTIKM demo sounds like. Shit, everybody knows he has a great voice. Ugh. I am going to ostrich up and stick my head in a hole for the duration. That hole big enough for two heads?

I hope this single is better than a WWFM part deux. yes WWFM was really his only *major* hit and it's the *safe* choice, but it didn't exactly catch the pop charts on fire and HE NEEDS that this era. I mean there is always hope for subsequent singles to be dancier and more pop....but I am totally stressing they are gonna make this an HAC song and CHR success will be limited. I AM SO ANGSTY!! MY EMOTIONS GUISE!! Ugh trying not to be debbie downer....I am sure I will love it....but he really needs to have some smash pop success to get massive radio play and sales. I really hope he has Bruno Marsian type success with this single or that the fact that pop blog thought it sounded like something JT should record today means that he can crack some of the more urban leaning CHR stations... I SRSLY CANNOT HANDLE THIS ANYMORE. I AM ALL CONFUSED AND HAPPY BUT ANGSTY AND A LITTLE GASSY TBH. GUUUUUH. I'm thinking that Ive heard a lot of people say they wished that they had released WWFM first the last time around and then FYE... Maybe this type of release plan is their strategy for 2. I do know for certain that Adam has dancey songs on this album, so we might have to wait for those until single 2. I think the Pharrel song might have been the JT referenced single and the Bonnie/Oliver one the dance club referenced single. Keeping fingers crossed for radio play!

You know, guys, he's not just going to sing WWFM again. Just because the DJ said the new song is more WWFM and less IIHY doesn't mean it sounds the same. There is a whole spectrum of colors in the rainbow that is mid-tempo.

A song doesn't have to be wild-ass up-tempo to be a radio hit. And radio hit is the goal, right? I have to assume that Adam and his team went with what is most likely to achieve that goal, and are gonna put 100% effort into pushing it to hit status. There is absolutely no reason for the label to go for anything less than a hit-- they want to make a ton of money, they want the album to sell like hell. Why would they sabotage any of that and go for something that doesn't work? Far be it from me to stop anyone from angsting their hearts out, but I really don't get it, myself.

Gahhhh! I keep checking in here and getting kind of depressed. For some reason the NAL stuff (including season 8 bottom 3, his inclusion in the Trevor Project (?) and this NAL stan DJ) is stirring up some old competitive juices that I have repressed for a while. It wouldn't bother me if the release info wasn't so confusing. Seems like the more info we get the less we know. Imma gonna try to get a lot of rl shit done this week so IF something does happen next week I'll have more time to flail. Current mood:

What a shitty day in fandom. Not for me Not for me either. I'm super excited! I love WWFM and so did a whole passel of other people. And you know, WWFM did great on the radio and won a Grammy nom, so would one with this sound be so bad? Well - would it???? Why the angsting? I don't get it. 8-)

You're right, NoAngel, and to fess up, my angst is more of a selfish nature ( coughneverahugeWWFMfan cough, coughdidn'tlovethedemo cough, coughBrunoMars cough). But why should I inflict that on you guys? Or, for that matter, project that onto Adam's career? I totally see that what's most important is that he has a successful radio single, which can buy him all the leeway to experiment that he wants. I'll stick my head back in my hole now where LindaG23 and I can grumblegrumble at each other in the dark.
