Ginger...so good to see you posting again. We all don't know what will happen with ALFC. There are many in the same situation of waiting to hear what will happen, so you are not alone. But what I would suggest to do now is to make sure you can log onto AO, because digital download of the single may come up now quite quickly. Last time it was available on AO prior to i-tunes and I bet you don't want to miss out.
If you need your user or pw renewed, AO is not the fastest in turn-around when it comes to such stuff.
Now to the big question of the day:
I left with tons of ???? and stepped away to deal with RL and everything else and also to try to think this whole thing through and this absolutely insane idea that is worthy of my user name is what stuck:
What if Adam decided to toy with everyone and record BTIKM in multiple different versions? We know how different he can sound. Did anyone recognize IICHY as the song from Saturday Night Fever immediately, if you missed the announcement? Probably not. Others like RoF or WWL are still immediately recognizable in the different versions, but yet have a totally different sound to them.
Perhaps Adam decided he had his fill of the gay gay yay yay talk on radio and wanted to give them something to talk about. So my craazy idea is that he sent different "listening tapes" to different people and now he lets the discussion happen both in the radio world among DJs and PDs, as well as among fans. This way, everybody is finally talking about the music and about Adam's ability to change things up and how multi-talented he is, etc.
He'll use this week to keep this cooking for a bit longer and then on Friday the press-release lets the cat out of the bag and gives all the radio stations a chance to choose which version they want to play as well as the option to play a different version at different hours.
People will talk about the choices the different stations are making and about the idea in general and so forth. Adam can even ride his own song title and promise that 'better than I know myself', the market will get to decide which version makes it onto the album.
Alright, so this was my craazy thinking the last few hours and now you can all tell me how insane an idea it is and why this totally will confuse the market and would be commercial suicide and so-on, but for now, I am just tossing this out into this blog and see what you guys think.
