Everybody's at home, it's a national holiday today. And thank you guys for celebrating the day with us   . Finland's is quite a young country and many of us have grandfathers or greatgrandfathers who fought in the wars. It's a day to remember them and what they did for us. said this perfectly.  It's a tradition to take candles to the graveyard. Many Finns light two candles on the windowsill for two hours in the evening (6pm-8pm).  |

My grandfather (who passed away already a long time ago) fought in the war after which Finland declared independency. I will be eternally grateful for him and all the others who were there for all they did! When we were cleaning up the attic of my grandparents old house after it went for sale also several years go, we came across some letters that my grandfather had sent to my grandmother while he was at the front. They really gave perspective to all the horrors that were going on there. I still have those letters - they are my little treasures. Some of them are actually loveletters.  So, thanks to all of you who are joining us Finns in our celebration! For us, it's not a carnival type of celebration but more of a solemn occasion, but still a very important one. |

Weheey just voted four times on different servers for the Billboard’s poll! And before I continue I’m just checking (all though it’s probably been discussed thousand and one times before and I’ve managed to completely miss it) that is Moscow the right one for the festival performance? Aand are we also voting for Adam and Sauli for the hottest couple? Seven days till next Tuesday? Man that’s long! I’m starting to feel like I’m not opening the boxes of my advent calendar for Christmas Eve anymore... : And Happy Independence Day to all fellow Bertlandians! |

I was out of town yesterday and offline, and just catching up on yesterday’s thread. Wow 37 pages  Someone asked for this "smiley" earlier today... Considering the state of mind of many here today, maybe Q3 needs to add it to the regular list:  As for me, I'm in the Rose Colored gang. I think things are going to be great. I like the Snap out of it smiley. I like this one too for when things get to OTT!  'Tho I'll fully admit I tend to go back and forth myself.....  I'm wanna be on Team Rose Coloured Glasses too.  I have a rose-coloured glasses icon for the girls too.  Love the rose colored glasses!! I like all your smileys & gifs...Thanks! |
