Omg @lurleene my dearest condolence to you!!! That Just Sounds SO harsh!!!
What i simply can't Wrap my head around is the broad scale of how an infection can Go. It's Not Like some people only have a stuffed nose and others are in bed for two weeks but Some people feel litterally nothing and others die.

This virus is scary as f*ck, don't care how many people try to convince us it isn't. Too scary for me to even think about a concert, don't care how "safe" the promoters or the artists deem it. I agree ... I've been really good about sheltering in place, no desire to be out and about. I'm scheduled for my first vaccination on Thursday, and I'm as excited as a teenager getting ready for a highly anticipated first date! I know that won't change my sheltering-in-place habits for awhile, but it's still a big relief!

Same here. Much as I would love a live show don't know how soon it's realistic. I heard the O2 is already moving stuff to 2022. U would much rather see QAL move there's again. I know they would rather not but I'm sure they will do whatever is safest.
Also so happy to see Adam doing all kinds of stuff.
Great to hear various people are getting shots. I got a call don't have a date yet. So sorry to hear about anyone losing their battle but especially someone so young.

lurleene, I am so sorry about your friend. This virus is so unpredictable. It attacks people in such different ways. Some people, like your friend, succumb to it very quickly. She was way too young. I am "in the pipeline" at my county health facility, but no appointment yet. I'm ready as soon as I can get it!
Love that video of the dance routine on Idol! Such a fun memory. Gotta admit that some of those kids were not the greatest dancers. But Adam had that real Broadway pizzazz. Can hardly remember those other contestants. Been a long time!
I'd love to see Adam do some collabs. It's a plus for everyone involved. I hope his current projects open the new doors to lots of diverse things.

I don't understand how the US could have been so unprepared with the vaccine. There's just not enough to go around. Oregon is not even following CDC guidelines and they are prioritizing teachers and inmates before seniors. At this rate, seniors my age with underlying conditions will not get a shot until March.
Nope. No concerts for me.

Oregon is not even following CDC guidelines and they are prioritizing teachers and inmates before seniors. At this rate, seniors my age with underlying conditions will not get a shot until March. Nope. No concerts for me. Well, for one thing, the previous administration did not purchase enough of the vaccine to begin with. Then, they refused to fund the states TO prepare for the vaccine. Not every state has the funds to prepare for a vaccine that needs special refrigeration, etc. Add to that, refusing to even acknowledge the severity of the pandemic, it was bound to be a mess. There needed to be a strategy on the federal level, and again, the previous admin was not interested. **** etal was bored with the pandemic. So here we are, trying to play catchup. And even now, some states (and their governors) aren't even doing the minimum to control the virus while we're (haphazardly) vaccinating. It's such a mess. I don't expect any progress until the end of year at least. And in the meantime, new variants are springing up...even more contagious than the one we haven't managed to corral.

syca, you said it in a nutshell. We are playing catchup with the virus. It didn't have to be this way.
And thanks DancyGeorgia, for those fantastic video clips of the stars giving Adam huge accolades! I remember just about all of them. Warms my heart. He just keeps getting betterer and betterer!

We lucked out and heard through a small grapevine that doses were available at a pharmacy about 20 minutes away, so hubby hopped in the car and got appointments for 5pm. We went back then, got our shots, and made appointments for the second shot. They said all 600 doses had been reserved within 3 hours. A small crowd of people were hanging out in folding chairs outside the storefront hoping for cancellations or extra doses at the close of the day.
This is crazy in New Jersey. It's a constant "someone heard that someone got" scenario. Northwest Jersey, which is somewhat rural, is 100 miles away from the only site which seems to have appointments on a fairly regular basis. The northeastern locations are reserved for those counties only. My sister, and her disabled husband and daughter, lives even more north and west than me (she might as well be in PA or NYstate), but even though we're considered a region for crossing the state line for work or other purposes, can't go get a vaccine 10 miles away in those directions. We really needed a federal roll-out response.

I work in a hospital in Missouri. They vaccinated all coworkers who wanted a shot . I’m still surprised how many refused to get it. Anyway they allowed us to each bring 2 qualifying family member to be vaccinated as well . I was able to get my husband his shot and very thankful he was able to get it hassle free. Our facility had 5000 vaccines . They set up a portal for people to register and 20,000 signed up !!! We’re hoping for more vaccine soon . The hospital made the decision to out a buy a freezer to keep the Pfizer vaccine and we had our supply 3 weeks before the other hospital in town. It’s been crazy and it sad this rollout was so poorly done.
