The distribution has been a mess, no rhyme or reason for the quantities various facilities were given. Kaiser in California was getting 40,000 doses per week, but with 9.3 million members it would take 4.5 years to vaccinate every member at that rate. But some facilities had enough to vaccinate 40 year olds, and some pharmacies were turning unused doses back to hospitals that needed them.

It kills me every time I drive through the "county seat" and see the shuttered local theater which hosted hard-working artists off the "bright lights".
The David Cooks and Jon Andersons and Gordon Lightfoots, happy to perform in an intimate setting in the middle of nowhere on a tour bus.
Keep safe, hope to see you soon, reads the marquee. No change since last March. It was small to begin with, and even with the latest governor's order permitting occupancy to theaters to 35% of occupancy, I don't know if that helps at all.

@lurleene I am sorry to hear about your friend and thank you for sharing her story. With this pandemic dragging on and a wish to return to normal, it is easy to become complacent. It is a reminder to keep your guard up.
Vaccinations are slow here as Canada is waiting for a new supply which probably won't come until March. Most of the seniors in care homes have received at least their first doses. Of course, the whole vaccine roll out here is to keep people of out the hospitals so the health care system doesn't get overwhelmed.
I won't be going anywhere for quite awhile. Even if you are vaccinated, it is only 95% effective which means you still have a 5% chance of being infected. I was quite happy watching Adam's concert from the comfort of my own home!

Thanks guys!!!! My friend had mild asthma but nothing that made her sick. She had breast reduction surgery more than once but she was not overweight, just really top heavy. It happened so fast and she was not feeling bad at all. Just a mild cough.

This virus can cause serious vascular problems even if the respiratory problems are mild, resulting in blood clots, strokes, and heart attacks even in young people. |
