I think that Adam really Thought that the single would be announced "Any Day Now"
Who knows what happened?
Must be the label making more last minute changes!

IF Adam really promised for the Amway deal to sing something from the new album, which back in the summer everyone thought would be no problem f course, then wouldn't it make more sense to sing OOL, especially given the audience? This way you fulfill your obligation and at the same time represent your cause to an audience that has to do a bit of thinking about that. The song is so beautiful and melodic and you could pre-record an instrumental backing track that Adam could be singing to without a problem.
This way you don't have any conflict about a potentially leaking single.
I am as puzzled as everyone on all this date and single timeline development and the constant needs to delay and delay. And I read that the song has some lyrics about December, doesn't this make the songs sound dated even though it is brand new if you start radio promoting it in January only?
Whatever is going on...it is quite strange. Can only hope that Adam can fly to Asia and also do a bit of promotion while he is there. That would be really a good thing, I believe. And then he can head from Shanghai straight to Finland. Dang, that is one stressful trip around the world again. He'll get to Finland and be mostly asleep. But from Asia to Finland he does have to fly through a major hub, i.e. London, Frankfurt, etc. and from there it is just a hop to Finland with tons of connections. Will make it easier to slip into the country unseen, because nobody will know when to expect him. And I consider that a good thing. I do hope Adam can find a few days of just privacy, while there.
Lots of question marks for me. Lynne, I'll be a fly on the wall when you ask all your questions in your private session with Adam... ;-) - there has to be a limit with all this granting of privacy, right?

So I woke up at 2:00 and was reading the end of yesterday's thread. I didn't have any idea about Amway's politics. Blargh!! But here's a possibility ... Adam was booked for the gig ages ago and couldn't get out of it if he wanted to. (Not saying he should want to necessarily. I think he should take all the money they're wiling to pay him ... And yes, I'm guilty of shopping at Target still, though I will pay extra for Fair Trade products if I see them ) I heard the rumor about him being booked for a Chinese gig from one of the main TALC girls ages ago. She had heard about it as far back as the Ste. Agathe concert. Maybe he agreed, having no clue about the company's politics or the timing of the single back in late spring or whenever. I do agree that the single release likely got moved up because they knew there wold likely be leaks. Yes, this was rumored for months. One of the band members (Tommy, I think.) told a couple of fans they were going to China. And this appears to be the event. I really want to be a fly on the wall when someone tells Rich DeVos or his #@*! son that Adam F. Lambert is at an official Amway event!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D It will be a nice paycheck for Adam and private shows and/or warm up shows (casino gigs) are essential if we want him to put together another big tour. Up early to check if any exciting news happened overnight and no.... Who told us the single release date would be announced yesterday? I can't remember anymore. RCA told many people they would announce and issue a press release on 12/9/11 -- guess not. |

And the big news IS
Adam is playing at an Amway convention?
Maybe he can bring us some driveway cleaner when he gets back. Looks like that's all we're getting for the holidays, huh? But, I understand, it'll be worth the wait. :-/

Yeah, still, they sent the song to radio and they gave radio a date. Why can't they just give the date to the public? They can still be working on all the behind-the-scenes BS while we start happily counting the days til release date. Craazy, I imagine he'll play an entire set and he'll want buzz to start w BTIKM, so if he's flying all that way, might as well start a little word-of-mouth there. I personally hope he flies right back home in time for the XF finale on Thurs (which could be some logistics they're working out - maybe Sony will lend one of the company planes? ;D). XF U.S. has announced very few performers while XF UK has everyone and their mother performing. it would so suck with all the RCA connections and Adam's song dropping if he can't do that gig. Maybe he will join S in Finland after Xmas or he can fly that day since he doesn't celebrate it anyway. |
