Shanghai is the largest city in the world. There are many reasons to go there so I can't figure out way Monte going to Shanghai a month before Adam means much.

I just caught up on the end of last night's thread and want to make a comment, not drag up same subject, but maybe give perspective. Just because someone is a right-wing Christian does not mean they are homophobic. YES, they may be totally against gay marriage, but it is often because of Bible teachings, not personal feelings. My brother is one of those people, as are two friends. My brother's best friend since age 4 is gay, now 37, they still hang out together regularly, play cards, interact with one another's friends, everything 2 guys do. I have no idea if they ever talk about gay issues or Christian issues, I just know that each would take a bullet for the other, no questions asked. I'll actually have to ask my brother if he'd be Craig's best man if ever did get married. As far as the 2 friends go, one of the guys has an identical twin who is gay, the other, a girl, has a brother who is gay. Total devotion to one another in each case. We always say being gay should be a non-issue, and that is the case with all of them. We've been on vacation at various times with my brother, his wife, his gay friend, and his partner, sometimes just us, sometimes a few more couples. No undercurrent of discomfort from anyone. I know there will be those of you who think being against gay marriage equals being homophobic. I don't know what to tell you. All I can give you is what I have experienced and how it computes to me. , I've been thinking this ^^^^ all through reading both threads (yesterday's and today's), but you expressed it so well ... there is nothing in the comments about Amway's politics that indicates they have a problem with gay individuals, only with gay marriage ... and while I don't agree with them (I'm a pro-gay marriage Republican) I do understand their position and don't necessarily find it "hateful" ... |

If this post makes it through, Q3, what is going on with Adamtopia??? Every 3 posts, I can't make a connection? I just posted a long post, and it disappeared?? WTH? Not blaming you, I have seen others saying they're getting kicked off all the time for the last 3 days at least? It's so frustrating. Have you seen the comments about it? Just curious...and struggling here. There are no reported server issues right now. I'll PM a couple suggestions to you. ETA: Just saw Adamrocks' comment -- odd. I am having no issue posting. And the host has no reported issues. So perhaps it is smurfs!! Bringing this over from last night because, Q3, there are most definitely issues with the server here. Too many people are having them for it to be everyone's own computer issue. |

So I woke up at 2:00 and was reading the end of yesterday's thread. I didn't have any idea about Amway's politics. Blargh!! But here's a possibility ... Adam was booked for the gig ages ago and couldn't get out of it if he wanted to. (Not saying he should want to necessarily. I think he should take all the money they're wiling to pay him ... And yes, I'm guilty of shopping at Target still, though I will pay extra for Fair Trade products if I see them  ) I heard the rumor about him being booked for a Chinese gig from one of the main TALC girls ages ago. She had heard about it as far back as the Ste. Agathe concert. Maybe he agreed, having no clue about the company's politics or the timing of the single back in late spring or whenever. I do agree that the single release likely got moved up because they knew there wold likely be leaks. There is definitely room for a number of opinions on the Amway gig, and to add mine, it's not like he's giving THEM money. They are giving HIM money. Also, Adam being Adam, I'm sure there may be a few hearts and minds shifted, if not changed, by interacting with him. Sometimes, actually most times, it is good to engage your "opponent" rather to stay segregated and have opinions hardened by lack of familiarity. I've always felt it is easier to hate and demonize THEM, whoever that may be, when you don't know any of them. This could be one of those "trust the universe" times. ITA You said it better than I could. (My internet's been out all morning. I was certain that meant something was going on, but no. :() |

Bringing this over from last night because, Q3, there are most definitely issues with the server here. Too many people are having them for it to be everyone's own computer issue. I've been having troubles for a couple of days with both my computer and my iPad, and on two different WiFi networks ... there is definitely something going on. |

I think that Adam really Thought that the single would be announced "Any Day Now" Who knows what happened? Must be the label making more last minute changes! Hurry up, Label!!!! Yeah, still, they sent the song to radio and they gave radio a date. Why can't they just give the date to the public? They can still be working on all the behind-the-scenes BS while we start happily counting the days til release date.
Craazy, I imagine he'll play an entire set and he'll want buzz to start w BTIKM, so if he's flying all that way, might as well start a little word-of-mouth there. I personally hope he flies right back home in time for the XF finale on Thurs (which could be some logistics they're working out - maybe Sony will lend one of the company planes? ;D). XF U.S. has announced very few performers while XF UK has everyone and their mother performing.it would so suck with all the RCA connections and Adam's song dropping if he can't do that gig. Maybe he will join S in Finland after Xmas or he can fly that day since he doesn't celebrate it anyway.
I personally hope so too. If the song is being released 12/18 this will be a critical time. He should be doing all the promo possible. (I don't want to be telling him how to live his life but that seems a given to me.) In fact I'm not even clear on how he can be in China when the single is released. I know that event was planned previously but still..... Maybe someone can clear up my thinking on this. I could be too influenced by wanking on twitter. LOL |
