NOT totally OT I like the hair of the new bassist And I like her face, her style in general. ashleydzerigian Ashley Dzerigian Gettin' my hair done today by the fabulous Tiffani Roslak. A friend said go purple (not really a purple kinda girl). I say black and bleach? I love this look -- I'm envious of anyone that can wear it -- I've hit my head too many times!

glitztripper, thanks for compiling that list! It is great to read them all together! A little OT here about Major and Minors. I know most of you only watched the show that Adam was on but I've been watching the entire series and just love these kids! Last night's episode had Claude Kelly on as the guest. If you can catch the episode this week, in a rerun, I highly suggest you watch it. First, Claude is adorable! Adam must have had so much fun working with him. He just seems SO nice! Second, he explains his process for writing songs and it is fascinating. Third, HE wrote Grenade with Bruno but all I ever hear is "Bruno wrote Grenade!" It annoys me that the general public thinks Bruno(and Gaga) are the sole writers of their songs and these artists never do anything to try to clear up the misconception. Unlike Adsam who says, "I wrote Aftermath with 3 of my friends." And with Adam, his critics will say, "But he collaborated!" Anyway, off soap box, but if you'd like to see Claude, this was a great episode.

Great! That's exactly the way I like 'em--at least giggling is a language I can understand. Between giggles I just keep fantasizing about how great it would be to see Adam, unaware Sauli is taping, bumble in thru the that door behind Sauli--topless and disshevled and oh so adorable. Just can't take my eyes off the door...

And isn't she going to fit in perfectly with the band! She and Tommy will be twins! ETA: Just thought, less than 2 weeks with these guys and she's shaved her head already!

What is it with this shaving off half your hair. To me it looks like someone had an accident and had to get it shaved off for stitches or something. Sure not flattering. Supposed to be cool or something, I guess. ???

Artist shaming has thwarted more talent than anything in this world. I hope whatever inspires them to keep working at their craft - whether it's a hobby or they're destined to be the next Monet or Adam Lambert - having people harshly judging their early efforts or choice of subjects can forever stifle the ability to create. I do understand your point but also feel that mass adoration of questionable talent is akin to giving trophies to everyone on the team purely for participating. Were I to speak directly to any of these aspiring artists I would encourage them to seek competent training to develop their skills. What I would not encourage is their sending their attempts out into a cruel world before they are ready. I am the cruel world in this case I guess, but dealing with rejection without losing your own vision for yourself is a valuable lesson and one that IMO we should not shield them from learning at an early age. I recently read a book called "The Talent Code", in which the author explores how talent is developed and why there seem to be clusters of talent in different areas or locations. He speaks of "deep practice", where one strives and tries to the very limit of their ability, falls short, gets valuable feedback, and tries again. This practice is focused and specific and leads to rapid learning and growth. He mentions the Bronte sisters, who seemed to have such a natural talent for writing. He demonstrates that it actually evolved out of their childhood hobby of writing little stories (that weren't very good). My point? If you want to develop a talent or skill, you must do the hard work, and you must be prepared to fail before you succeed. You must be able to accept the feedback, incorporate it, and improve from it. I think we do our children a disservice if we praise everything without giving them suggestions for how to do better.
