Yeah, vocal bridge is definitely new. New lyrics per Sam's article, and I'm assuming a new vocal melody over the instrumental that was in the demo.
My first thought was also that this might be Adam's contribution and hence he could get a co-write, but then I remembered that Hollywood Reporter article that had the writers of the song, and Adam was not one of them. It was Dr Luke, Claude Kelly, Olligee I think and one more person (Kiriakou something?) No time to look up the article, but hope you guys remember.
So I don't think there will be a co-write. :(

Someone upthread said they hoped that the album cover, etc., will be the same hairstyle as the single cover. This is what Adam tweeted on 10/6/11: adamlambert Adam Lambert Meanwhile, Yesterday was MY album photoshoot!! So excited!!! Woohoo!! Wait till you guys see the fashion! I hope Sauli blogs something about the release of the snippet and cover art yesterday. I hope Adam and Sauli are as happy and excited as we are. I hope he will talk about it, and it is not too personal for him. Adam tells us when he gets excited, so he doesn't think that kind of thing is too personal. I will wait and see if Sauli says anything.

Yes!! This is so exciting! I have been dying to hear what they did with the bridge because the demo had no lyrics, it was all instrumental! Fron the review: The thing that makes me hope he does is that he has called himself obnoxious before. "I can be a bit obnoxious.". It seems a strange word choice for someone like Claude to come up with as the word is not particularly melodious and the phrase on it's own isn't lyrical; can't wait to see how Adam makes it sound great. I'm sure he does. |

I have to agree that there is no bridge in the demo, and I think that explains why I find the demo boring-- it's catchy and has a nice sound, but it doesn't go anywhere. I never realized before how much the bridge impacts my attraction to a song.
Don't throw rocks, but I do not love the Outlaws of Love version that we heard because of this--it is beautiful, but it leaves me wanting more--and I have a feeling that the album version of OOL will include more than he included in his performance.
Gelly, I was thinking of using Strut as an example too. The only part of Strut that I love is the bridge (which happens to be the part that Adam wrote).
I don't know what it is about the bridge of a song that makes it feel complete. Maybe I'm easily bored, or just used to pop songs that deviate from the chorus/verse into the bridge and then resolve into the familiar sound at the end.
That being said, I really like what I hear in the snippet (definite earworm). But I am hoping Adam will not only enhance the demo version of BTIKM with, not only his stellar vocals, but also lyrically.

Hi guys! Thanks for asking about me and Zinnia! Like Zinnia already explained, things have been pretty busy in RL and on top of that I caught a nasty virus last week which first caused me to lose my voice and then developed into a bronchitis. So, I've been at home since last Friday, coughing, sleeping, coughing, sleeping, and doing some translations in between as best as I have been able to. And of course I tried to hang in there yesterday with all you guys flailing! I've just been so tired that I haven't posted here much. I sure hope I get rid of this thing real soon! Cough, cough, cough, cough, cough... WOW I caught the same one! No voice. Can't sing along! I finally went on antibiotics and I am definitely on the mend |
