Late berting, mostly flitting around twitter and music blogs and taking the temp of responses and listening myself over and over to the wonderfully clear AO stream. I really like it. Do I think it's innovative or game changing in any way? No, but that's not it's job, for that I'll look to other songs on the album. It's very well crafted, I love the R&B influences and beat, I relate personally to the lyrics, the production works really well IMO and I do listen to top 40 radio regularly and it sounds like it would fit in very well on my station. Yay!!!! I can't wait to hear it's first few spins on the radio! I agree. Pretty much what I tried to say be you said it so much better. It will fit into most CHR M station playlists (including the CHR stations in both my hometowns) and yet the vocals are pretty clean and sound like Adam.

If that bodyguard was on CSI, he'd be a Russian bad guy and get shot before the 2nd commercial. But if Adam hired him, he's probably a Libra pussycat. For those of you who don't understand "pussycat," it means sweet and chilled. The last thing you want your body guard to be is a pussy cat. Being married to one - he's a good guy, but don't screw with him. The good ones take their job very seriously and have mad skills (not just size and strength).

Some people with love this song, some will like it, some will think it is meh and some will not like it. Same for every song ever produced. But love it or hate it -- one thing is certain about BTIKM -- it is familiar in spots but it does not sound like everything on the radio. The top 10 songs on Pop radio (Mediabase chart) get almost 50% of total airplay, The current Top 10 are: RIHANNA We Found Love f/Calvin... BRUNO MARS It Will Rain LMFAO Sexy And I Know It KATY PERRY The One That Got Aw... DAVID GUETTA Without You f/Ush... FLO RIDA Good Feeling GYM CLASS HEROES Stereo Hearts... MAROON 5 F/CHRISTINA AGUILERA ... ADELE Someone Like You COBRA STARSHIP You Make Me Fee... Which ones does it sound like? 4 of them are angsty love songs ;D

Time for me to weigh in. Damn, I'm not the biggest loser. Wait...wrong board. Okay, seriously, I am so pleased, relieved, overjoyed with BTIKM. Someone earlier said he/she liked it better than any song on FYE and I agreed wholeheartedly but wasn't able to post that thought at the time. I took a road trip today and listened to FYE on the way after having heard the leaked BTIKM early this morning. I remember worrying last year that nothing on FYE could make it on TOP 40 except maybe WWFM and Fever and after listening again today, I'm still of the same mindset. I personally love Soaked, CLYG, Voodoo and Down the Rabbit Hole but none of those are really Top 40 material. But this new song, BTIKM, is definitely Top 40 to my ear and I'm excited as heck to watch it climb the chart. I'm full of hope this time where last year I was worried as heck with the first single (FYE). No way will this time be a repeat of last year. Shoot, I'm rambling, but I'm posting, which means I'm imbibing so cut me some slack. Anyhoo, to the song itself, the breath before the first uttered word...be still my heart...the bridge -- I said after hearing the Claude Kelly demo it need a bridge (lyrics, not just instrumental) and boy, did they deliver -- the harmonies in the last chorus (heard shades of a Time for Miracles vocal acrobatic in there). Crap, I can't articulate how pleased, relieved, excited I am about this song. In my oh so humble inebriated opinion, this.is.exactly.the.type.of.song.Adam.needs.to.lead.with.for.album.#2. Dang, that was hard to type under the influence. Let him get his foot in the pop door with a pop hit then he can redecorate the pop house with whatever the fuck he wants. Note, I said, what HE wants, not what WE want. Because we don't know shat we want until he tells us. LOL! Burrito out, probably like a light, in about 60 seconds.

Hey hwc!!! What you been up to these days??? :D I've been on a fitness kick. Workin' out for the first time in my life. Lost 90 pounds. The last few weeks have been concerts. Gillian Welch two weeks ago. And, last week, I went down to D.C. and was my daughter's date for a Ryan Adams solo acoustic concert at the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore. Kinda cool that a 57 year old and a 26 year old like the same music. Strummy stuff. Wears plaid. Of course, he's no OLFIP...

I'm sorry guys, but I can't help it. I want so much success for him and as an Adam fan, if I don't care for the song, how is John or Joan Q Public going to perceive it. I'm sorry it just doesn't grab me, and I am so worried it is not going to grab the public where he needs sales and a new audience. I hope I eat my words !!!!!!!!!! Aww, Smokey don't worry. Not my favorite in that it is very synth to me and prefer the more raw Adam, but seems very radio friendly and that is the target audience. He needs to bring in new fans and for that, this song seems perfect. The first thing I thought of upon hearing it was that it reminded me of many tunes on the radio now, but with Adam's great vocals. From all accounts, the feedback has been fantastic and I believe radio will be all over it. And this time around, his label seems to be on board where they seemed missing in action last time. I think the album will have many songs that appeal to us fans that like a more out of the box Adam but for now while this is a very safe song choice, I think it will do what it was intended for. That piano cover is beautiful:-) Welcome to all the new members!

Oh, does Adam have a new single? You tease! ;D Come on...what did you think of BTIKM?! 8-) I think it has a very good chance of being a top 40 hit on the radio, which would be a very good thing for Adam. Personally, I could probably live with a little less autotune on the vocals, but they don't record radio songs for ol' geezers like me. And, it's really hard to know what the real track will actually sound like from a low-rez stream. I'll buy it on Tuesday and find out.
