BurdersIMO, if Adam has a band that match Queen's quality, he can easily achieve the epicness on Sleepwalker like TSMGN. Yeah, and if I looked like Angelina Jolie I could climb on top of Brad Pitt every night A backing band matching Queen's quality is not gonna happen. There's a reason they are icons. Adam has the potential himself, but IMO looking for musicians of that level to serve as a backing band for a solo artist is fated to fail.

I played BTIKM to my 15 yo brother and he thinks it sounds comercially. But he said it is quite good. My 21 yo friend (a peer of me) liked it. I'm going to play it also for my sister and mom. But, I personally love the song and it exceeded all my expectations

Since voting is such a favorite way of passing time here, here's a chance: The major newspaper in Finland, Helsingin Sanomat is having a vote on six different categories regarding celebrities: among them are the favorite celebrity and the favorite celebrity lovebirds (love that title!) Sauli is one of the candidates in the fav celebrity category and Sauli and Adam in the fav celebrity lovebirds. If you want to vote, go to this page: www.hs.fi/kulttuuri/Laita+julkkikset+ja+kuhertelijat+j%C3%A4rjestykseen+HSn+%C3%A4%C3%A4nestyksess%C3%A4/a1305551552963Scroll down a bit where there's a link saying: Äänestämään pääset tästä. Click on that and a new window will open with a welcome text. Click on the "Jatka" (Continue) button at the bottom. The first page is the fav celebrity vote and Sauli is listed there. Select him and click "Jatka". The next is the fav celeb lovebirds, and Sauli and Adam are on that list. Again, select them and click "Jatka". The rest of the categories include "Hmm, who was that person again", "Stud of the year", "The most delightful person" and "The foreigner who most messed up". You have to vote on each of these categories, so just pick one of the options - in the last one you might actually have some ideas since you know these persons. Finally click on the "Lähetä" (Send) and you get a Thank you screen which you can close. The results will be announced on Jan 7, 2012.

Thank you so much for this. ITA. You saved me the trouble of writing something very much along these lines. I desperately wanted something monumental. After hearing him sing TSMGO, I wanted something he would always be remembered for - iconic and lasting. But that is not what is going to happen until, as you say, he becomes accepted. The song is catchy and stays in my head but there are people I definitely cannot play it for and say "you see, this is what I mean - he is going to be the most influential artist of his time". TSMGO, as perfect as that performance was, could have perhaps colored our judgment a bit?? The timing of it could maybe possibly perhaps have set some of us up to be let down. Queen is a big, bombastic rock band with BIG bombastic rock songs. Their rep as icons and the enormity of what they have accomplished makes nearly everything they do larger than life. When Adam sang with them and did so so spectacularly, we all flailed our asses off for weeks and rightfully so. But while comparing his new single with a performance of that magnitude might be only natural given the timing, it is also a recipe for disappointment. IMO that was a once in a lifetime performance. I am sure Adam has more of them to come, but every single released for a current pop audience is simply not going to measure up to that sort of EPIC performance. IMO!!!!After listening to BTIKM for quite a while last night, I watched the EMA performance again a few times. My feeling was what we've said a million times - he can do anything. Chameleon. I love his new song and agree that the song is more complex than one might notice on first listen. It will continue to grow on us the more we hear it. The thought of Adam going out on tour and singing whatever is on his new album, and then squeezing in a performance with Queen (Olympics?) will have to make him feel a bit schizophrenic, but if anyone can do this, it is Adam!

Does anyone know if the video has been done for BYIKM yet? It must be right if VH1 is getting ready to play it. ???

ITA evergreen! It is quite complex - especially for a pop song. And the gorgeous vocal layering is wow!
I'm having my entire family here this afternoon for a (pre) Christmas party and I'm sitting here reading & listening to BTIKM. Is that obsessive?
