I trust that RCA have it under control. The single isn't even officially out yet and am sure there will be plenty of good stuff in support coming down the track.

I'm definitely aboard the "WTF did Team Adam choose to release BTIKM this week if there's no promo planned for it?" train. I'm not sure how anyone can expect that the song will get the benefit of all those shiny new iPods, iPads and iTunes gift cards if people don't know the song is even out there. Initial sales won't look as good as they would have otherwise. We might as well brace ourselves.
But beyond that, I'm not seeing how a lack of promo for the initial release week will affect the longterm viability of the song. Obviously there WILL be promo - undoubtedly a whole shitload of it - in the new year. The situation with Sleepwalker in Canada is completely different, and totally irrelevant to the situation for BTIKM. BTIKM is the lead single for a highly anticipated album, and a great deal is riding on it. It will be supported to the hilt. I'm not worried a bit on that score.
I just remain curious about the rationale for the timing of the release. At this point, it makes absolutely zero sense to me. Maybe Team Adam has an ace up its sleeve, and we'll be pleasantly surprised by an appearance we didn't see coming (which, at this point, pretty much leaves NYRE). But if not, all will still be well in the long term. Of that I am confident.

If Adam is on his way to Finland as the Chinese fans assume, the plane will land in half an hour at Helsinki airport (2:39 PM). There are however very good VIP services at the airport, so he can arrive and leave the airport without anyone knowing it. 8-)

 Trespassing is down to #28 on US Amazon, and I noticed that the pictures gone from the US site & UK site. ( Trespassing still isn't on the Canadian Amazon web page ). I'm so damn confused why they moved BTIKM up from the planned January release if there isn't any promotion. :-/ Especially here in Canada where Adam's had no promotion for a year. The Behind the Music and Major & Minors and True Hollywood Story wasn't on TV here. If your outside of the Adam Lambert bubble the general public hasn't heard nothing since His appearance on AI when He sang Aftermath. Even the EMA's where only shown a couple times late at night and TSMGO was cut out and not shown on TV we only got WRTC & WWRU Guess I'm paranoid because I remember what it was like when Sony Canada gave us Sleepwalker for Canadian radio to shut some fans up with no promotion. After the first couple of weeks the radio stations got tired of just the fans worldwide spamming the local Canadian stations they stopped playing the song. I remember updating the Sleepwalker radio charts daily and it was sad after a couple of weeks to watch it disappear. :-/ I want BTIKM to do so well, but if it's going to be another Sleepwalker situtation where they drop the song with no promotion and the general public never hear the song then..... Adam needs the general public to get on board if BTIKM is going to be successfull. If there isn't an Xfactor performance or public New Years performance they should have just let the song wait until January until after the Holiday radio freeze.  Seeing as we technically shouldn't even have heard the whole song yet if it weren't for the leak, I wouldn't worry too much at this point. The song isn't even out to the general public yet! I'm not sure about the reason behind the timing of the release either, but RCA must have had their reason for it and I'm sure they wouldn't bring a release FORWARD if there was no rationale behind it.. These guys should know what they are doing better than we do, so I'm just gonna chill. And I'm sure BTIKM will do great given that it is a good song, the good reviews its getting, and RCA seemingly lending much more organised support to it than they did with FYE. |

I am curious but not worried.
Adam/RCA/et al are not going to jeopardize the release of BTIKM.
Could be Adam just got a wild hair and decided that he could squeeze in a stop in Finland on the way back home.
Christmas is still nearly a week away and I HIGHLY doubt he will stay in Finland until after Christmas- it's just too long for him to be "vacationing" at this point in the single timeline... IMO.
He's young, in love, and a spontaneous change in plans is what young people in love do.
And we don't even know where he went.
It will be FINE.

OMG do we ever worry about our love Adam. IMHO the early release of "Better" was a trial balloon to see how high it would go generically. Without any fanfare ,except from his fans and others. The new single almost made the top ten best sellers on Amazon and was number one on the fast track. Can you imagine what some real publicity will do for the great single."Better than I Know Myself" has HIT written all over it..It's going to be a long term winner. gosh I could barely get any sleep last night because of its earworm.

About RCA strategy, from a fan over at Pulse (and I happen to really agree with this assessment, which is why I'm bringing it over):
"He doesn't need to do promo right now. With the holidays coming everything is on hiatus. RCA needs to make sure he gets an iTune banner for the holiday sales so the public knows he has a single out. Any appearance he does now will only result in short term sales without radio sustaining it on iTunes. Let the song build on radio first and than do the big promo push."
I would add: The big TV promo push the week of the drop is usually for albums - for albums you really want huge numbers on opening week. For singles it's different: there is of course some promo throughout, but ideally you coordinate the biggest TV promo push with the time when it's highest on radio, so that it gets as high as possible on the Billboard charts (kinda like what they did with his Idol appearance for WWFM). The promo that is happening right now for the single is *radio* promo, behind the scenes, so that radio plays it, and that's been already going on (as we've seen tweets about "King Joe")
