I am very pleased with the way RCA is working this song so far. They often say XXXXX is going to be big, etc. but actions speak louder than words. The strategy is starting to make more senses. 1. Target audience in US -- and looks like in other markets -- women aged 15 to 50. 2. Promote Adam as "mainstream" pop -- hence leading with a mid-temp track. 3. Build song in advance of impact dates so that they can prove that listeners like it and have substantial support for it. 4. Go to HAC first -- Adam was more successful on HAC vs. Pop radio. Then Pop 1 week later. Since RCA is committed to got for adds in both formats, and they are promoting this song heavily, it appears they think they have a hit. They have 3 months until the album is released. They need to pace the promotion so that casual fans are aware of the music but not tired of Ada. That said, I think there must be some other promotional activity planned for December. I now believe that it is possible Adam taped something before he left LA. We also know he has a couple of interviews that he did in November that have not surfaced. A bit of speculation on my part -- but as the wise SusieFierce posted -- speculation is what we do.
