DUUUDE That Toby dude is the typical radio douche jockey. Metrics my ass. Dude having fucking facebook likes shouldn't determine whether or not you can play a song ONE FUCKING TIME. And if it truly DOES hinge on something like that, then it's further proof that radio is shit.

Here's my 2 cents:
I bought the single on I-tunes. Once. And that's it.
I think we hear about gifting from folks who do it, 'cuz they're SUPER-EXCITED (and other fanbases, evidently, have that going on too - IF the artist is SUPER-EXCITING enough - level playing field there, seems to me).
Anyway, people saying they bought copies for their mom (I didn't, but she probably would like one - she went to his concert!) are a fraction of his fanbase on twitter and the internet, which is itself a fraction of his fanbase.
I think the whole "mulitple copies" thing gets amplified in some places (NOT HERE) in an attempt to detract from Adam's truly impressive showing today.
AND "BSC fans" didn't write those reviews - well, unless you look at it this way: Adam turns people (fans and reviewers) BSC just 'cuz he's that good.

I still went ahead and voted and hope you will, too. Why? Because this is Washington DC, a BIG market that didn't play Adam almost at all in the first era (I lived there then and it was really frustrating!), and I don't wanna take any chances. I'll do what I can to help, even if it means jumping through this douche's hoops. |

I find this highly ironic since a friend of my dd's was accepted into the Disney College Program and had to watch a video about the "Disney Look" -- a video which was all about the work requirement of conforming to a very conservative standard of appearance. Yes, they have the Disney look because they consider their employees as a cast in a show. I worked for Disney. Very strict "costuming" requirements. But they are supportive of Gay employees. I think partners get full benefits. And of course there is gay day at Disneyland. It is true that Disney is generally supportive of their gay employees and does not fall in line according to the demands of the Christian right (the book The Gospel According to Disney is quite illuminating on that matter, fwiw). But I continue to find it ironic that the cms in the video are talking about how it's okay to be different while wearing their name badges from a company which requires outward conformity. To me it says that it's okay to be different as long as no one can tell. Kind of like how in the past a black woman could only be a Rockette if she could pass for being white. Also, the gay days are neither sponsored nor endorsed by Disney. |

Yeah I typically don't waste my time voting in radio or internet polls or whatnot. Never been one to do that kinda shit, no matter how big a fan I am. And I certainly am not going to do it for someone who is all talk and no follow through.
Srsly this station will or will not play this song, but their decision will have absolutely nothing to do with whether or not super fans vote in some meaningless poll or like everything of theirs under the sun. The PD's and shit will have their own way of determining whether or not this song fits their playlist, and the label will have to work it hard to stations. This kinda shit is game playing and fishing for hits.
