So looking forward to week 1 sales figures - whatever they are. (And knock wood for greatness.)
First of all - the "Over 20 countries" global, worldwide, planetary total is a figure that has zero Idol Sophomore effort comparison base. So it's going to be lovely whatever it is.
Then - the US figure could be converted into a ballpark, very rough, but at least slightly possible indication of how many stone cold, hard core, ready when he is for whatever he likes fans there are.
Going to take the Week 1 US figure and divide it by 3 to get that rough idea. Because, let's face it, a whole lotta us bought multi singles. (I got iTunes, Amazon, and the AO DL. But AO DL is not a single sale, it's an album sale. They're just letting you dl a track.)
So many - but not all - committed fans might be responsible for at least 2, and there is that gifting factor. So, I'll take half of the sales figures as outside hard core fanbase number, and a quarter as the lowest.
But it's the holidays. Most of the world, no matter how much they will like the song, are not downloading singles. Though people may want to use their new gizmo's at iTunes.
Yes, it's completely unfounded and ungrounded, but it's something.

Here's my issues with trying to catch Adam on top 40 radio - you have to listen to an unbelievable amount of totally shit music in the process... I think my ears are bleeding! ALTHOUGH.....I will have to say that there's some better stuff out there then in years past.....kinda, sorta. I woke up the other morning with this stupid thought running through my brain -- your obsession wants to be a POP star....he's wanted to be a POP star for the longest time.....he listens to POP.....he loves electronica......this will not change. So, I'm developing an ear for it. Crap. I do like walking and exercising and dancing to POP but for general listening pleasure, no, not really. What about driving? I do a lot of driving - and that's when I'm singing along to all this CRAP and loving it! |
