NEW EVENT! VARIETYAdam Lambert, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin Join Los Angeles LGBT Center Telethon on KTLA (EXCLUSIVE)The Los Angeles LGBT Center will host its second annual live Love in Action telethon on Aug. 14. The star-studded lineup includes Adam Lambert, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Manila Luzon. “LGBTQ people have been disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the work to build back amid the full reopening of California is just beginning. The dollars donated during our first telethon in September were put to use the very next day, and we are asking for your support again to help the most vulnerable people in our community,” center CEO Lorri L. Jean said in a statement. “No one was spared from the havoc and grief caused by the pandemic. While that battle continues, our community has always risen to the occasion to meet adversity and crisis with hope and compassion. Would love to hear the chat the The Flossy One had with Adam. Sounded like it was very enjoyable!
That LGBT Telethon sounds like it will be very fun. I'm hoping that Adam is in it for more than just a few minutes. Sometimes in these telethons, the participants are in them at various times throughout the show, not just once. Hope so.

OTT but since a few here are affected by wildfires I felt like sharing it on here: Yesterday evening I watched a great documentary on wild-/Bushfires and what has changed them over the last decades. I found the documentary very interesting since it showed quite new wildfire scientific research. www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0VADMPtYGUI don't know if it's geoblocked and it's in german but a few speak german and you can turn on subtitles. also...if i envy the US about one thing its their secretary of transportation...you have Pete and we have...well...lets not talk about it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtfOuzzRu04

Adam really takes the time and makes the effort to help and bring attention to LGBTQ problems and causes. He does it because he cares. But I wish more attention and rewards were given to his efforts and the work and support he provides for his community. He steps up and it is not all about attention for himself. Love the picture that Variety used for the article on the telethon.
Voted! I so wish Feel Something had been pushed and given a bit of a chance. It remains my favorite song from Velvet but Closer To You is right there for me too, lol.

lurleene, I agree that Adam should get more props for the work he has done as a gay rights advocate. I think he deserves a personal mention now and then. He has really stepped up in recent years and has talked the talk and walked the walk. The telethon sounds like fun. He will be in good company with that bunch.
I voted, too. It was very hard to choose because I love all his music. My heart still pangs a bit for the whole Velvet era not getting its chance to shine, but I'm sure Adam will give us plenty of Velvet music when he FINALLY starts performing solo again. Those songs are real gems. I agree with you on Closer To You. that song just soars.
The taping of the "Cover Bands" show starts the first week in August. Adam has proven to be a very fun and skillful judge on these kinds of shows. He's funny and entertaining and really thoughtful about the advice he gives. It will be fun to watch!

Hi everyone, just thought people might be interested to hear from the winner of the FS video chat…. No it wasn’t me, 😓 but it was a very lucky friend of mine from NZ… She is happy for me to share her comment on the content of their chat… (the tribe she mentions is out NZ fan group, “NZ Glitter Tibe” 😁 )
We chatted for about 10.5mins. Nothing we don't already know about really. Musical is coming along but he's still not ready to tell us more yet. I said hello from you all, he asked how many in the tribe now, which I wasn't sure but said there's quite few. We talked about the QAL tour & how much he loves NZ. I said we all love him ❤️ and want him to come back! I asked about the Kilt skirt / trousers...he ordered it from Scotland so it's authentic, he said its very hot to wear etc. Told him we love it 😍 He said New York was great, he was excited to catch up with old friends & go clubbing etc.
I think she’s still in shock a bit! Lol

I guess it was the most annoying to me when LNX put out his video. Adam tried to give him his props only for a DQueen to tell him he could not compare with only a same sex kiss. Well, that same sex kiss that was later done (and much talked about as groundbreaking) was done by Adam 10 years ago and almost cost him his career, as many pointed out. And really, Adam has been an advocate for his community for many years and raising money in fundraisers and created his own foundation to help the LGBT Community. That should count for something too. He has been there in a big way and not just when he is trying to sell records. Even put himself out there a bit in politics with a fundraising performance for the JB campaign and interview with Mayor Pete. He is a great role model and advocate for his community and that is important. If he were raunchy and OTT all the time, I doubt he would make a great spokesperson or would be asked so often to speak and motivate LGBT youths in the US and UK.
