I read the two posted articles and i just have to wonder what does that one writer think Adam could be charged with here in the States as a result of a fight in another country? sometimes I just shake my head at the idiocy that passes for journalism these days.
I am thrilled to see the media continuing the story with updates, including Adam's tweet about no violence being involved. I agree with whoever said the domestic violence meme that was attempting to take hold yesterday was unsettling and irresponsible by those trying to push it.

I think for some it does. My own husband, a very evolved type of man, thought the story, including the beauty queen part of it, so great as to be almost manufactured. His tone was kind of like Eber's first tweet reaction. He doesn't think Adam is a violent person, so to him, it is just a humorous story. As my husband says, " it's Old West/Rock and Roll stuff- guys being guys; sometimes guys work their problems out physically. They always have. It makes Adam and Sauli kind of bad ass. And its a little bit funny because they are boyfriends." I think that is what you hear in the tone of those two DJs mentioned upthread. I was kind of interested yesterday in the way people seemed to put Sauli in the victim role of being "beaten up" when likely both men were being physical. I don't think subconsciously Adam would have gone there physically even when roaring drunk if he didn't recognize subconsciously that Sauli was able to hold his own physically. And that Is "man hugging." Anyway, love the new song, and this morning, after being fairly grumpy all day yesterday doing some not so fun errands with my husband, I thought of the lyric "sometimes I get dark, but try to see my heart," and apologized to him and thanked him for hanging with me on my good and bad days. The lyrics are so relatable. Apparently bar brawls, which he Reading this I am recalling the books by Deborah Tannen about the difference in communication in men's vs. women's cultures. Fascinating stuff, and explains a lot about how men and women can talk to one another and completely misunderstand one another. She gave examples of words that have subtly different meanings between the genders. (And, yes, I know that not EVERY person has the same definitions. She is speaking of broad, cultural concepts, not individual examples). One of the words she used was "violent,." Their meanings are similar in most aspects for both genders, but the male definition includes an additional feature that the female definition does not. "With the intent to cause harm." So, in male culture you can have a highly physical bar brawl, or heavy contact sport like hockey or football, and the action is not considered "violent" because the intent is to win the game, or win an argument, not to intentionally inflict harm or suffering on another. In female culture, that type of rough physical contact, which can end in injury, is "violent" regardless of the intent. Interesting stuff. Thanks, exactly the point!
