Totally OT, but wanted to share a seasonal CD I've enjoyed for many years: "December" by George Winston. All piano. Here is one of the pieces:

Ok, now that the dust has settled and we realize the incident didn't involve punches and domestic abuse...does anyone else wish they were there to see the drunken wrestling between those two? What I'm picturing is pretty hot, LOL. I'd watch.... lol

Sorry I am late to the party. Drunken wrestling? It is not a real fight, not blood involved, it is quite entertaining and pretty harmless. I am an expert, it is quite common in my town and my friends and brother in the university used to get involved in one every weekend. And everything usually ended with both parts having a drink toghether . At that time I was really pissed because I am female and they didn't let me play. So I am sorry but I don´t see anything really wrong with this. And if I tell my brother that some people thinks that this is such a big deal that deserves interational news coverage, he is going to laugh his ass off. I know what you mean. My impression was that there were tempers involved here but what I've been picturing is that one of them was upset and decided to leave and the other one was physically trying to make them stay. That's just my imagination, but one way it could have gone down that would include a "non-threatening - non-violent" type of scuffle. I would like some further assurance that everything is okay between them. I guess they're in Sauli's hometown, but Sauli didn't say anything about the 2 of them on his blog. I know....not my business, bit dammit, I care. 8-) No he didn't say anything on his blog today. Yesterday he said that he will now have private life and will not comment. His yesterday's blog was quoted all over the world in media, so I can understand he doesn't want to write anything special right now Isn't that a good assurance enough that everything is OK as they were seen kissing each other yesterday in Helsinki?

You and I see it as two guys "communicating" with each other and others (mostly in the media) immediately see it as domestic violence, where one of them is the abuser and the other the victim. In terms of the media, I'm thankful we are going into the holiday. For me, the difference is that these two guys are in a relationship together. Regardless of what kind of physical contact there was, it seems what is certain is that they were both upset. I'd feel bad about that even if it was just a verbal thing, and the fact that it got physical in some way is unfortunate, at the very least. I see a distinct difference in guys (friends/relatives/whatever) rough-housing or mock-wrestling or even getting into a minor physical altercation, and 2 guys in a relationship whose disagreement devolves into the physical. And for the record, I'm definitely not casting either one of them as the "aggessor" or "victim," since we have no idea how it went down.

Thanks Linda So many things can be understood in a different way.. as here in Europe *a beau* is a prostitute.. Well, it's not same for everybody in Europe though. At least for me beau has always meant just boyfriend, nothing else.

At least for me beau has always meant just boyfriend, nothing else. When I think of the term "beau" I think of Gone With The Wind. Beau has has always seemed to me to be a more regionalized reference to a boyfriend -- more Southern in use here in the States. It's also a very common name for a beloved family pet -- usually of the four legged, furry variety.
