It was reported on Thursday that Lambert spent several hours in a Finnish jail Thursday after being arrested outside a Helsinki gay bar following a brawl with his Finnish boyfriend, local reality star Sauli Koskinen. However, Lambert also took to Twitter to make clear that the level of violence was overstated by some media outlets. “No punches thrown, no injuries and no charges. Thanks Linda So many things can be understood in a different way.. as here in Europe *a beau* is a prostitute.. The "shag" is South Carolina's claim to fame and state dance (danced to songs like SIXTY MINUTE MAN or UNDER THE BOARDWALK,) but if you ask an Englishman if he wants to shag, you are in for a big surprise. |

I never meant to insinuate that this was drunken wrestling.. but if you want to believe Adam, there were no blows thrown either. I'm sort of talking to the big picture of all sorts of confrontations straight, gay, friends and siblings. My point in a different post, is that there are different degrees of men giving each other a blow or two. Two brothers can beat each to a pulp just as easily as two partners. In one instance we look the other way and in the other instance it is quickly called domestic abuse. Then there is also the question of two female partners throwing a blow or two. Would they get called out? Or is it just a cat fight? good question, koshka, and it's been raised in the comments sections of some of the news articles. I rarely read the comments because most are filled with hate and venom, but one of the sad themes I kept finding was equating Adam & Sauli fighting to two women fighting. "Slap fest" was one term used for their altercation, as well as cat fight, and concern over Adam "chipping his nail polish" in the fight. I'm tellin' ya, at one point I was almost hoping that there were punches thrown. :  I felt better when I went back to my usual NEVER READ COMMENTS. |

Well, it's not same for everybody in Europe though. At least for me beau has always meant just boyfriend, nothing else. When I think of the term "beau" I think of Gone With The Wind. Beau has has always seemed to me to be a more regionalized reference to a boyfriend -- more Southern in use here in the States. It's also a very common name for a beloved family pet -- usually of the four legged, furry variety. Again, a Southern point of view. If you know 50 people in South Carolina, there will always be a few named Beau, probably at least one Bubba, and a plethora of Treys. And I had never known anyone named Dreama, but within a month of moving to SC, I knew 3 of them - an attorney, a bartender, and a girl I worked with. Go figure ! |
