It is nearly 8pm on Christmas Day in Australia. We've had a beautiful lunch with my family and I've needed a little nap from too much good food and drink.
I lost my eldest sister to cancer this year. I nursed her through her chemo, but unfortunately the cancer was too aggressive. She was my lifelong best friend - we did everything together. Shared all of life's ups and downs, its pain and joys. This is my first Christmas without her - it feels so strange and I miss her with all my heart. I've managed not to cry all day, but now the tears are flowing ......
I'm only new to this forum, but I've been made to feel very welcome here. I truly appreciate the wonderful way that all things Adam are discussed without drama and with respect, tolerance and genuine kindness. And humour.
I wish everyone here every happiness, no matter in what way you celebrate at this time of year. xox

I lost my husband a few years back and those first few Christmas's and birthday's etc were very hard for me and my kids. Watching them grow up without their father was hard. It will get better and easier as time goes by and then you will just remember the wonderful times you had together! Have a very Merry Christmas and welcome to the family!  |

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE--OR JUST HAPPY SUNDAY, ACCORDING TO YOUR PREFERENCE! Just want to wish everyone a beautiful day, and apologize for all the birthdays I've missed recently and all the "welcome to our world"s I owe to ALL new members and de-lurkers. Q3, thanks for that beautiful peace symbol collage in the banner today. And thanks to mods and all the regulars who keep things ticking here. It's my refuge. My day was FULL and I just posted the new 2011 version of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas (in AdamLand!). Disclaimer: this is just a silly thing I do--not really poetry--just helps me remember all the fun times I'm thankful for in retrospect. This year seemed kind of slow since Adam was recording instead of touring--but in looking at the list of things he did in 2011, I am in awe of him. (I had to leave many things out--would've been a book.)
