I think Harvey supposes he's "spring-boarding" off of celebrity news to launch little "thought-provoking" debates. That's what he did with Pink's kind gesture. Unfortunately, the news about Adam and Sauli's altercation/detention gave him occassion to post a "poll" about domestic violence (straight) vs. domestic violence (gay) and suggest that many people took one more seriously than other. I guess he's so wrapped up in that point, he's blind to how hugely he's escalating/fictionalizing the news regarding Adam and Sauli and how grossly unfair it is to even allude to OJ in reference to it.
Exactly this. I think Harvey has some personal history with this subject matter of mis-judging a domestic violence situation in a gay couple vs a straight one and now he is projecting his agenda onto the Adam/Sauli story. I have nothing against his actual topic, it's an old topic (I remeber reading Greg Lugenis' " Breaking the Surface" gazillion years ago, which focused on domestic abuse in a gay relationship and how it can go on undetected, because the assumption is that both guys are equal partners). I have no problem with raising awareness of such a topic, but keep A and S out of it....
He loves math equations: Perhaps somebody should tweet this one:
Argument between two people .NE. domestic violence .NE. double murder
(NE = Not Equal) #somelawyersareidiots
I don't know that it makes any difference for TMZ or Harvey, whether we tweet up a storm or not....I do not care, but I somehow think that it would make a difference to Adam at this point, to see his fan base stepping it up for him. Especially given the article that Pink and he just exchanged.
It therefore does not even make a difference, whether the arguments are terribly logical or what, probably humor is actually the best come-back in that stupid situation. Because we are not fighting a rational argument. This is about Adam getting that feeling of support.
I mean, here he is starting into the next intense phase of his public career, party time is over, tons of travel and interviews and picture taking and being all smiles and so forth is ahead of him (and this time the drill is not new, it's a lot harder) and here he is dealing with:
a) The whole media fallout from last week
b) Whatever next steps there are from Betray for Money (due date there is 1/2/12) (even if all he has to do is sign papers, that is still draining to deal with)
c) Fans pissing all over the fanboards (incl. his home at AO) that they don't like the single and all kinds of other shit
d) Getting himself psyched up to promote this single
e) Finishing up whatever the Exec. Producer of Trespassing needs to do to finish things up
f) Be all smiles for video and photoshoots
.....and on and on and on
I think us fans whooping Harvey's butt if only to provide Adam some good laughs, would be totally worth it, and I'd be happy to sacrifice a scumbag like him in the process of entertaining Adam and Co.
All we need to do is organize a twitter hashtagline and we could create a little twitterstorm over at TMZ...but not defending, but rather whooping ass, because they quite frankly have invited us to do so.
Just mho, as always.
ETA: did not mean to say that there was anything wrong with the debate about the single here on Atop, I thought it was totally fine here, just overall fans have been quite critical actually - or just negative...and that is what I meant....nothing about this site...hope I did not get misunderstood
