….but then I had to listen to 10,000 bad country songs and bad neo-punk songs and other crap and rate like 350 artists before I finally got to rate Adam Lambert on the artist list. (I only exaggerate a bit.)

I am a regular Hit Predictor survey participant. But the whole process did give me perspective into how good Adam’s new song is. It was by far the best song I rated – by far!

She revealed the title of another new track from Trespassing – “Cookoo”

Shoshanna also confirmed it is not the Claude Kelly track. (YouTube of the demo follows but this is not the song, just has the same title.)

Adam will be in a magazine supplement, a UK magazine but available in the US. It will be shot in January.


So what is “Cookoo”?

Song of the Week - Better Than I Know Myself

Ok, ok. So I kind of said last week I didn't like this song, but I also said it would probably grow on me. It has. Get over it. I'mma talk about Adam Lambert now.

As much as I detest shows like American Idol, every once in a while they produce some amazing talent. I don't pay much attention to the show because I believe that it's pretty much a karaoke competition, but nonetheless, once the top dogs release original material, I generally star paying attention. Adam Lambert was definitely one of these cases. Oh yeah, and he's really pretty.


This song is much less electro-pop than what people have come to expect from this established pop star. His wailing vocals get the emotions of the lyrics across very well, clinging to that last desperation of holding on to the one who he loves most of all. Overall, the song is very sweet, and it has a very strong story and message behind it, making it relatable to a large audience. I really hope his upcoming album explodes, because if the rest of the tracks are anything like this, it's going to be one of the best of 2012.

Adam Lambert and boyfriend Sauli Koskinen appear to be way past the alleged drunken bar fight that got them arrested in Helsinki last Thursday.

Right after the mishap, Lambert, 29, said he and his Finnish Big Brother winner beau, 26, were "laughing bout it," and blamed jetlag and vodka for the ordeal. And it seems the family of Lambert's significant other hasn't taken the arrest too seriously either.

"Xmas Eve with the Koskinens!" the American Idol runner-up Tweeted on Saturday along with a picture of him and Koshinen decked out in a festive hat. "Just had a huge traditional Finnish feast and now opening gifts! Merry and bright!"

Shortly following Thursday's jail release, Koskinen blogged in Finnish: "Love is not always easy, but it's forever."

After laughing off his arrest and being defended before expressing regret and embarrassment Lambert posted the photo below with the accompanying caption.

Next week's chart should look markedly different, as Christmas airplay plummets. In particular, look for this week's No. 100 debut to make a big leap. That would be Adam Lambert's Better Than I Know Myself, which had 54 spins in its first week, led by San Francisco's Alice @ 97.3 (KLLC-FM). Even if Better Than I Know Myself doesn't pick up a lot of spins (though it'll almost surely gain some, and maybe a bunch), the diminished play for the 30 seasonal songs on this week's chart should guarantee it a giant leap on next week's Idol chart.
