Adam's family is way cooler than mine. so ya think Neil will have a twitter party on Adam's birthday? hmm... And I already have my hopes up for NYE--that^^ would be too much! Cause you know Neil would feel he'd have to top Adam's, in intrusiveness of course! |

Me, too. On first viewing, I thought it was a marvelous performance that brought tears to my eyes because of the significance of the event, but also thought it wasn't his best vocals. Upon repeated viewings there was so much epic in the performance visually, stylistically, emotionally, and in terms of power and presence that a few botched notes seemed insignificant. From a technical POV, not Adam's strongest vocal, but from an overall performance POV, it ranks among my favorites. I think we ... especially Adam's fans from idol...tend to hold vocalists to a higher standard than the general public does. And we want Adam to be technically perfect. It's nice to see a performance of his that was not perfect, be hailed around the world as 'showstoppingly' great. And not be torn apart for technical flaws. I still flove that performance!  |

Guess I'm kinda glad that I'm not well versed enough in music or have a good enough ear to recognize Adam's performance flaws, or anyone else's for that matter. I just enjoy the artists and their performances for what they are. I imagine the majority of audiences are pretty much the same and not in expert category either. I adore Adam's performance so much that I can't find any fault with them ever. And if I ever see him live I will die. 8-) |

I marvel at Adam's technical ability, but, technique only provides a foundation upon which to create art. It is not art, itself. If we are seeking technical perfection, we have the technology to create it in the studio without even using actual musicians. It is an artist's interpretation and presentation, performance and interaction, that touch us, inspire us, excite us, arouse us, and blow us away. The EMA performance does all that. |
